The Collings Foundation

Once, they roamed the skies, keeping America safe from threats both at home and abroad. Now, the planes of the Wings of Freedom tour report for a different duty: educating future generations of historians. In keeping with its mission to educate the public on living history, The Collings Foundation takes these warplanes on the road, often near the airfield where they once served. Tour-goers may peruse vintage planes from the days of early flight and marvel at rare bomber and fighter aircrafts from World War II, including a B-17 Flying Fortress bomber, a B-24 Liberator, B-25 Mitchell, and a P-51 Mustang fighter.

Great experience, beautiful airplanes. Bit of nastalgia everyone should see to remember the men and women who risked their lives for our freedom.

This is an amazing way to share our History with your Family and Friends! The planes are beautifully restored with a lot of love and care. You are able to go inside them to experience what our brave Men and Women experienced while in the air fighting for the freedoms we have today. The next time they come to Reno, I hope to have the money saved up to go on a flight. What a once in a life time opportunity! Thank you for saving these amazing planes.

Wear clothes that can get dirty. Climbing inside the aircraft is the best part!
