Running is a healthy activity for body and mind, unless it involves jogging while reading baseball star Mark McGwire's first romance novel. Improve your running experience and move on to Mr. McGwire's later works with today's Groupon: for $20, you get $40 toward Vibram shoes and accessories at The Runners Forum. This Groupon is valid at the downtown Indianapolis and Carmel locations.

Believers in what the New York Times calls "an injury-proof, evolution-tested" barefoot running style can reap the benefits of minimalist footwear in a pair of toe-hugging Vibram FiveFingers shoes. Without a cushioned sole or arch support and with tear-resistant material, the Bikila shoe ($99.99) for men and women encourages a more natural forefoot strike during scenic jogs or spars with Bruce Lee, and the KomodoSport ($99.99) model's rubber outsole and seamless foot bed accommodate an array of athletic endeavors.

Designed for indoor dwelling fitness buffs, the Performa Jane ($109.99) encases feet in a soft leather upper and pliable rubber to provide breathability and dependable grip during activities such as yoga, Pilates, weight training, and extreme couch surfing. Though Vibram's machine-washable shoes can be worn without socks, Injinji mini crew toe socks ($11.99/pair)' blend of nylon and lycra helps to wick away excess moisture, encourage circulation, and prevent blisters caused by hungry sock monkeys.

The sales people were wonderful. We were actually looking for shoes for my handicapped husband that would make it easier for him to walk. The sales person took the time to answer all our questions and let him walk around in shoes until he found just the right pair. I would definitely recommend this company to others.
