What You'll Get
Dancing is an effective way to express emotion without words, along with painting pictures and speaking only in binary. Make a statement with today’s Groupon to The Ruth Page Center for the Arts. Choose between the following options:
- For $40, you get 8 dance and Pilates classes (a $112 value).
- For $76, you get 16 dance and Pilates classes (a $208 value).</p>
Founded by Chicago-based dance icon Ruth Page in 1970, The Ruth Page Center for the Arts promotes the city’s dance appreciation with a combination of performances and educational classes for all ages and skill levels. The center fills its schedule with dance and Pilates classes led by a staff that includes several former professional dancers and one Olympic charades gold medalist. Ballet Basics eases students into the shallow end with a gentle introduction to dance, while intermediate and advanced sessions impart the skills needed to spring into a spontaneous pas de deux with the nearest coat rack.
Eschewing the traditional ballet structure in favor of improvised melodies and stylish sunglasses, jazz-dance lessons welcome experienced, quick-stepping attendees. Under the tutelage of Pilates Practice instructors, students steadily tone cores and straighten postures with mat classes that forge slender muscles without muscle bulk and its accompanying purple shorts.
