Chopsticks gracefully transport sushi rolls to mouths, unlike forks, which puncture and mangle bites, or fingers, which often get distracted tickling each roll’s belly. Carry eats sans distraction with today’s Groupon to Tokyo Steakhouse, in Homewood, Illinois, or Little Tokyo Japanese Restaurant in Munster, Indiana. Choose from the following options:

  • For $20, you get $40 worth of sushi and drinks at Little Tokyo Japanese Restaurant.
  • For $20, you get $40 worth of sushi, steaks, hibachi, and drinks at Tokyo Steakhouse.
  • For $35, you get $75 worth of sushi, steaks, hibachi, and drinks for four or more at Tokyo Steakhouse.

Chefs at Tokyo Steakhouse and Little Tokyo Japanese Restaurant roll up sushi, stir fresh udon soups, and grill hearty entrees from a menu of Pacific Rim–inspired surf ‘n’ turf. Diners sneak twin shrimp-tempura strips past crustacean-intolerant bouncers inside the Homewood roll’s disguise of seaweed topped with tuna, avocado, and caviar ($11.95). Combination platters ($10.50–$13.95) assemble trios of popular rolls, including the california or spicy-tuna, into meals with miso soup or salad, and à la carte offerings carve off single bites of sashimi from tuna or sea urchins ($2–$4). At the Tokyo Steakhouse, chopsticks and knives collaborate to subdue hibachi dinners, which require deft handling of accompaniments including shrimp, vegetables, and fried rice, as well as the dexterity to best the main course in a fiddlin’ duel for its soul. The hibachi grill blows fiery kisses at tender filet mignon ($23.95) and sears appetizing tan lines on chicken ($15.95), which dives into bowls of dipping sauce to cool off.

Little Tokyo

The chefs at Little Tokyo specialize in sushi, from basic slices of sashimi to more elaborate rolls that occasionally come baked or fried. Though sushi options take up more than 100 lines on the menu, the kitchen also sends out plates of tempura, udon, and teriyaki, among other classic Japanese entrees, such as the chicken katsu don—a breaded and fried cutlet served with egg, onions, and rice.
