What You'll Get
Like any great sport, bowling delivers valuable life lessons, such as the startling consequences of loitering in a triangle with nine of your friends. Keep the wisdom pearls rolling with today's Groupon: for $19, you get two games of bowling (a $28 value) plus shoe rental for four people (a $12 value), and one large pizza (an $8 value) at The Vernon Club.
Founded in 1886, Vernon Lanes claims to be Louisville's oldest bowling venue. The eight-lane bowling alley boasts an intimate, cheerful retro vibe and provides ideal environs for schooling orderly rows in the law of entropy. After two riveting rounds of pin-pummeling with three friends, slake your appetite with a large pizza. Like a gopher hole with an uninvited garden hose, the lanes fill up fast, so call ahead for availability.
- It doubles as a hipster hangout as much as it does a place to knock down some pins, plus there are only eight lanes to roll on adding to its quirky coolness – Metromix
- Odd compliment for a bowling alley, but it's always clean, too. I've always associated cheap bowling places with filthy bathrooms and lots of broken stuff. The owners/managers really take care of this place. – Kevin A., 1/3/09, Yelp

About The Vernon Club
The Vernon Club, nestled in a historic building dating back to 1886, rolls out eight gleaming lanes with automatic scoring, a new Internet jukebox, and tasty comestibles for fueling competitive appetites. Players don borrowed footwear and the letterman jackets of league-player ghosts before hurling three-holed spheres toward pins poising themselves for the welcomed whack of a spare or strike. Bowlers can rest their pin-striking biceps of fury with a gooey 12-inch pizza or maintain concentration while grasping a bratwurst in non-bowling hands. On select nights, rock bands set up shop beside the lanes and churn out foot-tapping ditties until 1 a.m. or 2 a.m.
