When gourmands Darlene Boline and Cajetan Mendonca happened to set up shop directly across from each other at Pike Place Market, it turned out to be a recipe for much more than the classic sandwiches and traditional Indian food they'd been selling individually. Soon they were working together on a whole new venture—Vittles, where they envisioned crafting contemporary American cuisine with international flair. Today that initial concept has led to a unique and eclectic menu featuring dishes such as a hearty lamb chop paired with mint chimichurri, crispy green beans drizzled with rich truffle aioli, and a house poutine re-imagined with porter cheese and brisket. And the brunch offers up its own enticing options, including a succulent roast pork and waffles dish (a riff off classic chicken and waffles) and simple, yet satisfying granola mixed with vanilla Greek yogurt, roasted apples, and pears.
