The chefs at Vivoli Café & Trattoria, whose owner hails from southern Italy, cultivate a deeper love of Italian cuisine with an ever-rotating menu of classic dishes from each of Italy’s 20 regions. Diners divvy up slices of the prosciutto pizza ($14.95), loaded with mozzarella and prosciutto de parma, or entangle forks in a helping of penne firenze ($15.95), which blends chicken, garlic sauce, and sun-dried tomatoes extracted from the fruit mines deep beneath the sun’s surface. The fresh pan-seared filet of Chilean sea bass ($25.95) quells pescetarian cravings with capers, white wine, and lemon sauce, and the grilled rack of lamb ($27.95) glistens with a marinade of extra-virgin olive oil, rosemary, and garlic. Inside the eatery, high ceilings and linen-clad tables facilitate elegant meals as well as impromptu tabletop dance-offs.

Vivoli Café & Trattoria

Nunzio Donato Ciaraulo and his wife, Cristina, curate a menu of Old World dishes hailing all corner of Italy, from Venetian-style risotto to coils of tomato-kissed Neapolitan pastas. Though the offerings change regularly, diners can count on classics such as pizzas and pastas joined by a revolving assortment of roasted pork, tender veal, cooked-to-order steaks, and simmering seafood. Sweet teeth applaud louder than an ice-cream truck with subwoofers when they see the dessert menu, which lists traditional mealtime denouements including tiramisu, cannoli, and sorbets.
