About Wildcat Golf Club's School of Golf
The mission at Wildcat Golf Club's School of Golf isn't as simple as merely solving a player's current swing problems. Just as a person can age, get stronger, or become rusty, his or her golf game is never static. That's why PGA Director of Instruction Tom O'Brien and his team train students to become their own best instructors, able to diagnose game issues, fix them on the fly, and order themselves to do 50 pushups as punishment.
With 15 acres dedicated exclusively to practice, the club affords players ample space to work on ball-striking and hone their short game. A double-sided driving range with bermuda grass, five different tiff-eagle practice greens, a 7,000-square-foot chipping green, and an indoor facility for video swing analysis ensure that players of every skill level can improve. This includes both novices, who might participate in a beginners clinic, as well as players whose skills are on par with the Rice University men's golf team, which calls the club its home course.
