Delicious breakfast Very nice greeting when I arrived. Room very clean, bathroom clean, no complaints whatsoever. Breakfast was the best I have had at any hotel! Hope I can go back to this area soon so I can stay again. Hotel was quiet and comfortable! I cannot say enough good things about this hotel and staff!

Don’t stay!! Issues and staff VERY RUDE! Staff extremely rude! No one answers the phone when calling with issues. Told manager would call, NEVER DID! Could not connect internet in room. When called to get help, told me to come down. I was unable to and told them that so they hung up and then would not answer phone.

Awesome Every time we come back to our hometown of Algonquin to visit. We stay here and it’s special to me. Because I went to Jacobs High School when I was a student there. So I always ask for a Jacobs view.

Never again We stayed here last week for a family trip. Got to the room there was paper pieces all over the carpet and the toilet was clogged. The floor in the bathroom had hair everywhere and felt slimy. Carpets in the hallways were disgusting and stain up looking and the pool was closed. Breakfast was gross, the eggs were rubbery and I’m not quite sure how you can mess oatmeal up that bad, but it was nasty too. The night we checked in there was a kids sports team there and the parents were wasted in the lobby hollering and carrying on. I’ve never written a hotel review before and I’m not normally picky but we spent over $300 to say here for 2 nights! Never staying here again and definitely do not recommend it.

Oversold and No alternatives We recently visited Algonquin for a family anniversary party and had a reservation booked at the Holiday Inn but when we arrived for our late check in, the front desk agent said “I don’t know how to tell you this but we’re oversold and don’t have a room for you.” That was the end of his sentence as he had clearly not been given any additional resources to offer. When I asked him what our other options were and where we going to stay for the night, he told me he could help call some other properties to see if they were available but after 4 phone calls on both his part and mine, we still had not found a place. We were lucky enough to have family a family member in the area who was able to cobble together an air mattress on their basement floor but I feel for guests who would not have had the option. Poor form Holiday Inn.
