Tracy at Holiday Inn DCA Tracy & Phil are amazing! They are always nice when I check in! I look forward to seeing them both when I arrive at DCA. They take the time out of their day to greet me and ask how my day is! They keep me up-to-date on things happening in the city and make sure I have everything I need.

Great Location and Staff! Great bed - comfortable. Front Desk staff was awesome (Tyreek, Jasmine and Virginia were great). Convenient to Reagan Airport with a shuttle. If you are travelling into or out of Arlington I would recommend the hotel just because of its location.

Rude, Condescending Front Desk Personnel; (Lack of) Maintenance Response to Numerous Issues. I stayed at this hotel for the first time from June 21 to June 24, 2024. As a long time IHG rewards member that has stayed in many Holiday Inn (IHG Brands) and hosted a family reunion at one several years ago, I know what standard to expect as many have previously met and/or exceeded those standards. This visit was not the standard. After checking in and going to my room 303, I started putting up my items, hanging clothes, toiletries, etc. and arranging other things as well. Turned the TV on and it didn’t work; called front desk from my cell as the buttons on the room phone that says “Guest services, housekeeping, room service” etc did not work; the gentleman answered, mentioned the issue of trying to call using the guest service button and he said “those don’t work, and to get the front desk you have to dial 0 (zero)”; and said he will send maintenance up; I continued what I was doing and an hour past, but still no one from maintenance; called front desk again and was informed maintenance was notified but not answering the radio, so the gentleman said he would move me to another room; it was an inconvenience as my things were already situated, however, I accepted it; ask him was everything working in the other room; he assured me that it was and I moved my things to 315. After getting things settled a second time, the tv did not have any of the local national channels other than CBS, as I was trying to watch the USA 2024 Olympic heat and trials that were on the NBC channel. I picked up room phone to call front desk, but there was no dial tone; I thought maybe the telephone line was not connected so I picked up the phone to check and 3 short wires were connected to the telephone but nothing else; see the attached photo. I went down to report it to the front desk and the Lady who checked me in was there and the gentleman she seemed “annoyed” by me asking if the NBC channel was part of the line up as I couldn’t find it and was trying to watch the 2024 USA Olympic Trials; she said “look at the guide and it will tell you”; after informing her I went through every channel and didn’t see the NBC or ABC stations, she then said in a defensive manner, “we don’t have those stations”. I then said, “ma’am, you could have said that in the beginning”; I then asked that the telephone be repaired sometime tomorrow; it was not repaired during my entire stay! Upon returning to the hotel late Sunday evening close to midnight a lady was sitting in a chair in the hallway on the 3rd floor by a room right by the elevators with a small carryon type suitcase next to her; I asked her was she ok and she said “yes”; I went to my room as I had an early morning flight to catch. Upon leaving the room to check out around 4:30 am, the same lady was sitting there, which concerning as I never saw anything like that before, so when I got to the front desk, I mentioned it to the receptionist. To my surprise, the receptionist apparently took issue with me mentioning it and stated, “Now let’s use our head for more than a hat rack” and started laughing then said, “just playing” as if this was some type of joke. I responded in a serious tone, “I don’t see anything funny about a woman sitting in a hallway with her luggage”. Noticing my displeasure with initial insulting response, she replied, “We have security on site and we would not just have anyone sitting in our hallway; the lady is a chaperone for teenagers in that room who are forbidden from leaving it during the night and she is posted there to ensure they don’t leave it. So there is no need for concern”. This receptionist just “assumed” that I knew why a person would sit in a hallway of a hotel room with luggage by their side. It is clear to me the management of this hotel are totally unaware of the lack of customer service or they know and just don’t care. I would not be patronizing this one again, ever and would advise anyone planning to do so to choose wisely.
