Hampton Inn & Suites Arroyo Grande/Pismo Beach Area, CA

Moldy, mildewy, awful smelling rooms with filthy windows :( We expected more from a Hilton property and were very disappointed. Staff were friendly, but the rooms were filthy, dank, and smelled awful. They offered us 3 different rooms and allowed us to see each one. We selected the least disgusting one. All had filthy carpets, mildewy moldy bathrooms, and windows were so dirty that you couldn’t see out clearly. The rooms were dark during the day because of limited light trickling in between dirty smears on the windows. The rooms smelled horrible! I would describe it as a fishy smell in the room and the bathroom had a musty, mildewy odor. The toilet and sink looked like they were cleaned, but the shower was gross and had black gunk in seams and corners. We were stuck there for 2 nights when my husband was sent there for work. We wouldn’t have made it another night. If he was required to stay longer, we’d have checked out and paid out of pocket to stay somewhere else. They need to completely redo the bathrooms and remove all the carpeting at that property. They need to have mold remediation in that building. They need to at least clean the windows if they don’t want to replace them. It was such an awful experience that I don’t want to stay in Pismo Beach ever again. :(

The GOOD and the BAD Hampton Inn, Arroyo Grande, CA THE GOOD AND THE BAD Nice, large room pleasantly decorated. Numerous electrical outlets conveniently located everywhere. Quiet. Desk and kitchen staff very sweet, helpful, and sociable. The complimentary breakfast is great with variations of crisp bacon or sausage and different styles of egg. Love the waffles with fruit jam and whipped cream offered. Bakery products and oatmeal and cold cereal available along with apples, oranges, and bananas. I really appreciated the hot chocolate in the lobby (along with coffee). The business center is great with printer handy. The fitness room is good with four or more different cardio machines plus weights, etc. However the cleaning staff has at least two terrible workers. Passing rooms I saw two other staffers were cleaning diligently. I’m here for one to three months while my home is being renovated. I arrived Monday and saw a sign saying my room will be cleaned every other day. Wednesday, I could tell pillow cases had not been replaced. I put one pillow under my knees and do not want head and leg pillows interchanged. She also did not even look in shower/bath. Friday, she came at 4 and said she was tired and it was late and she would clean tomorrow. Saturday no one came at all as promised. Sunday I didn’t expect anyone, and no one came. Monday no one came. Tuesday no one came. In eight days there was only one inadequate cleaning that was performed on third day!

Nice surprise! What a nice surprise! This hotel has a great team working there. Very friendly and helpful. The hotel is nice and clean and the breakfast is yummy.. Great place to get away if passing through this area. Ask for Leah and or Phil.. The pillows are wonderful!

Tired and in desperate need of upgrades As other reviews have mentioned, carpet is nasty, bathroom lighting is in disrepair, tub had mold by grab bar and rust on the drain, sheets are old and thin….I could go on. I am a Hilton loyalist but can no longer suck it up for the points to stay here. I will be relocating to another Hilton property for my monthly business visit to the area.
