Decent Hotel Location of hotel was convenient. Room was nice and as expected. Door to the room was unexpectedly hard to open and close. Even when you turned the air off, it still ran and it was COLD in there. The walls seemed paper-thin and I could hear almost every word of the conversation that happened in the room next to me like it was happening in my room. Common areas (halls and elevator) could use a deep cleaning and/or updating. Was disappointed that I checked in via the app several hours before arriving and requested updates and an electronic key card and never received a notification of the key card or of the room being ready (this all happened after the designated check in time). Staff at the front desk were pleasant and helpful. Overall it was an okay experience.

Not a Normal Courtyard If you are a Courtyard regular, you will not recognize this hotel. The building was originally a low rise apartment building, and may have been a different brand hotel after that. Our room was small and the bathroom even smaller with almost no counter space. The bistro and bar were closed due to COVID. Breakfast was complementary, but consisted only of packaged muffins and yoghurt. (Surely they could have provided a somewhat classier cold breakfast.) Free coffee, at least. If you want a real breakfast you will have to go somewhere else. Marriott must have been desperate for a downtown Athens location to take over this building rather than constructing a new hotel as all the other major brands have done. The location is not bad - we walked to an excellent restaurant and there are others nearby. The university is also a modest walk from the hotel.

Avoid this place during Covid pandemic We stayed at this hotel in January and we were shocked with their extremely poor management of Covid restrictions. When we checked-in, the people who were speaking to us were not wearing masks on their face and they put it back on only after they were done speaking; most of the staff we met in the hallway were similarly wearing masks on their chin and not on their face. None of them respected social distance when walking close by. We were hoping to stay for more than one night but found it extremely unsafe and decided to look for a different place.

Friendly Staff, Thin Walls Convenient and easily walkable to downtown and campus. Friendly and helpful longtime staff. Walls are paper thin as I heard the entirety of a lengthy zoom call the guest next door had on speakerphone like it was in my room. Halls can be noisy with late night party goers. Mixed feelings about this place as I like the location and staff, but not the construction and quietness of the hotel.

Good downtown location This property seems more like a converted apartment complex than a hotel. Ample parking. Some rooms open outside , but most are inside. Key access door was not operational and I walked on into the hallway. My room smelled like smoke. Lounge was closed due to Covid.
