Not family friendly yet was hosting a children’s and teenagers dance event. The room was clean and comfortable. We were there for my daughter‘s dance competition. The hotel management should do a better job of understanding the needs of their guests when they’re booking events like this. They had a hotel full of families yet the pool was for 21+ and closed most nights they could’ve opened it for the families to enjoy. It would’ve made the experience much more enjoyable and maybe even earn some repeat business.

Horrible This has to be one of the dirtiest hotels I’ve ever stayed in. They overcharge you in nickel and dime you as well. No one ever cleaned. I had to ask for new towels. This is not worth it.

Horrible Experience Checking In I am writing to formally express my dissatisfaction with the check-in experience I encountered during my recent stay at Harrah’s Resort in Atlantic City. As an employee of a public junior college, I must adhere to strict financial policies when traveling on behalf of the institution, and unfortunately, the lack of accommodation and training displayed by your staff significantly disrupted my arrival and the beginning of my conference experience. After waiting in line for approximately 40 minutes to check in, I was informed by your front desk staff that I could not use two separate credit cards—one for the room charge (college card) and another for the deposit (personal card). I attempted to explain that I am not allowed to place a deposit on the college card and cannot be reimbursed for charges made on a personal card. Despite this explanation, the employee emphatically stated there was “nothing she could do,” and offered no alternatives. I then exited the line and attempted to call the front desk for assistance. After being on hold for over 30 minutes, I finally spoke with a man named Wesley. He seemed to suggest that additional complications might arise, asking whether the college card was in my name. Ultimately, he asked me to return to the front desk and ask for him. This resulted in another 30-minute wait in line. After more than an hour of standing in line and a lengthy phone call, I was finally helped by a front desk associate named Bonnie. She was courteous, helpful, and resolved the issue quickly—placing the deposit on my personal card while charging the room to the college card, as I had originally requested. I am very grateful for her assistance, but this resolution should not have taken nearly two hours to achieve. As a result of these delays, I missed part of the evening’s conference activities—including a meal sponsored by either the host organization or an exhibitor. After being awake since 2:00 a.m. and not having eaten since 8:00 a.m., this added to my frustration and exhaustion. I was finally able to eat dinner around 8:00 p.m., after a long and stressful check-in process. This experience revealed what I believe is a fundamental training issue at your front desk. I cannot be the first guest traveling on behalf of a public institution with similar financial constraints, and the rigid response I received indicates a lack of awareness or flexibility in handling such common scenarios.

Find Another Place to Stay The room was spacious, nice view of Bay, pretty clean. Bath tub water was coming out light brown. Hallways smell like cigarettes and old, wet clothes. It costs money to go to the pool ($10) per day. This is insane to me. I do like how it’s 21+. Drinks overpriced, no food service when I went. The gym is nice, included and 24/7. The food options here are mid and severely overpriced. Can’t go anywhere without paying $15 to leave the garage. No other food options in walking distance really. Atmosphere is what you would expect at a casino resort in AC. Definitely not kid friendly. Crowd is loud and inconsiderate in public spaces (ex: no headphones when playing music or on the phone). There’s also a lack of nice outdoor spaces. Overall, I think Harrahs has a horrid business model. If I wanted to spend this much money, I would go somewhere nicer, friendlier service, better food options and more included in resort fee. I hope they make an effort to improve.
