Greatly Surprised I usually don't write reviews, but felt I should let other travelers know that this hotel is a great place to stay, despite past negative reviews. I booked this hotel in April but didn't read the reviews till end of September. I wasn't expecting much after reading such bad reviews. The front staff was awesome! Positive attitudes, especially Latoya, Josue, & Juan. Samantha, & Gabriella were helpful and pleasant during checkout. The bartender Teehsa was very sweet, and patient with big crowds. Housekeepers were friendly. Our room was clean. The location is easy to get to and from tourist attractions. Denny's is conveniently next-door for very late eating. FYI the hotel is cashless, but so are so many other places in Austin.

Hardworking Staff/Carpet as old as Frank Sinatra The hotel staff, friendly and welcoming. Unfortunately this is a hotel that needs major renovations. The lounge area and main lobby have the ambience of mid century modern. But so is the carpet. Now you think with the lounge which has a bar open between 5 to. 10 most evenings, it would be considered a focal point. But rippling and moldy smells are not mood alternatives. The rooms although comfortable, have stains on the curtains. So if u overlook that let's get to the ala catre menu. The breakfast, which is applicable two ways. A grab and go version, will set u back, 18 bucks for buffet. That's not even a consideration. You can purchase cereal, some jimmy dean biscuits in the freezer, or donuts . If you really like mud coffee that's at no cost. So bring your own breakfast or go out.. It seems like this is not indicative of most Hiltons. Not only does it need an internal face lift , the pool which is quite large, was open, but no jets were operating. The staff was unaware that the security on the pool gate to get back inside, was not operating correctly. So if seeing this one on line, click by , and hope Hilton attends to giving this their attention. Choose wisely.

Avoid at all costs Do not stay at this hotel under any circumstance! Someone charged nearly $200 to my room at the hotel bar, and management was completely unhelpful. Despite the fact that the signature looked nothing like mine and security footage would have shown I did not leave my hotel room after 8:00 PM, they refused to help. I find the fact that someone was able to charge to my room as concerning as their unwillingness to make it right. I stayed here out of necessity on a work trip because my preferred hotels in Austin were not available, and I will not make that mistake again.

Great location and hotel Despite the reviews we stayed here to be close to the Moody center …. Room was perfectly clean and very nice…. Check in was fast and efficient ( one small complaint..despite calling the day of they couldn’t guarantee early check in at 2p and said to just show up …luckily it worked out )…. I don’t understand why you have to pay for parking when your parking yourself …it’s not a public lot … idk …. We didn’t walk to the Moody center since it was cold and raining …..Uber was 30.00 each way …. Overall great location and nice hotel ….Dennys in the parking lot was excellent for breakfast…..hotel bar was still open after the concert which was awesome as everyone gathered there to talk about the concert ….. Would definitely stay here again

Mediocre accommodations, hotel needs updating! The hotel was very average. The lobby was nice and there was a lobby bar for drinks, but the hotel is dated. The rooms were dark and felt depressing. The beds were comfortable, but the bathroom shower curtain was gross. The carpets definitely needed replacing. The room did have a refrigerator and an in room safe. Our room was quiet which was likely due to the fact we were facing the cemetery. It was definitely the oddest view I've ever had! It was close to the UT stadium which was convenient. I chose this property because everything else was sold out. I would stay again, but only if we could not find anything else. If they remodeled the property could be terrific. I do like that their standard check out time is midnight. Also this was the first time I ever stayed at a Doubletree that I was not offered a cookie at check in! Next time, I would opt for the non cemetery view!
