Wonderful hotel. This hotel was such a refreshing stay after our time in ocean city we booked a night here before leaving out the BWI airport and it was well worth it, beautiful hotel, just to note there is valet for $50 but you can go in and out as much as you want, you can also find a nearby structure to park if you don't want this feature, the staff at the hotel were amazing, very friendly, efficient and the room was gorgeous, the beds super comfortable, shower was also wonderful, there was a jet tub in our room but we did not use it as we were only there one night. The only thing I hoped for was a microwave in the room but there was one available to use nearby the elevators. Free coffee in the morning helped as well. I would stay again for sure.

Needs A lot of Work We stay at Kimpton Monaco’s Hotels all the time. This one was the worst one we have stayed. There was no one at the front door to greet you. The person checking us in was disorganized and appeared overwhelmed. Went to the room, which was a king suite with a city view. There were no robes, limited towels and the room temp was about 80 degrees. The room had a jacuzzi tub, which had a broken stopper, making it impossible to drain the water. The shower pressure was inadequate. The room number fell off the wall in the hall, which looked like it was glued on many times. They had a microwave in the hall near the elevator which was weird. The B & O Bistro was so so unlike other properties. We booked in advance and the rate we were charged was higher than the online price at the time of stay. Contact IHG to no avail. Will not be going back and do not recommend this location.

Disappointing - for service look elsewhere My wife and I stayed at the Kimpton Hotel Monaco Baltimore this past weekend to celebrate our 6th wedding anniversary. It was our first overnight without kids in over 4 years as we have a 4 year old and a 1 year old. We have stayed at this hotel before multiple times and always enjoyed our stay however the level of service has dropped dramatically. I reached out to the General Manager, John Gilligan via email two weeks prior to our stay and asked about having some rose petals thrown on the floor and bed of our room to set the mood for our anniversary weekend. After a week without a response, I reached out via email to the front desk with the same request. I still received no response so I called the Friday prior to our stay and made the request over the phone, the person I spoke with said it was not a problem and they would be sure to make our stay extra special with rose petals. I was happy to hear that finally I reached someone but not exactly confident due to the lack of communication from the General Manager and front desk previously. I then called back again to confirm my request and spoke to a different individual who assured me that the system has been notated and the request would be taken care of. The next day we checked in to the hotel, I was given our room key to our King Room with a Spa Bathroom and there were no flowers. There were other missteps in service, I asked for a shower cap and was told it would be dropped off in our room but that never happened. When I checked out in the morning it was super transactional and not genuinely interested in if we enjoyed our stay. I would think twice before staying here going forward.

Very disappointed My husband and I checked out of the Kimpton Hotel/Monaco in Baltimore yesterday after a one night stay. The following were among the problems we experienced during our stay: No hairdryer in room; TV did not work (would not turn on); Refrigerator (which we were counting on to store some perishables) was not working; Impossible to get hotel staff to answer the phone when calling from our room; We were lied to (Since staff did not answer the phone, my husband went in person several times to the front desk complaining about the lack of a hairdryer and issues with the TV and refrigerator. He was told, more than once, that a hairdryer would be delivered and someone would be up to our room shortly to assess the TV and refrigerator. No body ever showed up, however). Although we visit Baltimore frequently, we will never stay at this hotel ever again and will discourage family and friends from doing as as well.

Perfectly located historic hotel I’m a Baltimore local (living in Mount Vernon) and the Monaco is my go-to spot for when I have family or friends visiting. I also love a staycation there. The hotel’s location is incredibly convenient, rooms are always super clean, and the staff is helpful and accommodating. They have a great wine hour for guests and I enjoy the bar in the B&O restaurant (love the Branzino). It is an easy stroll to everywhere - Camden Yards, Inner Harbor, Mount Washington (the original!), etc. Highly recommend this gorgeous historic hotel!
