Good location poor customer service The location is great, the room design is also great, the beds and pillows are good. However, i had two things in my booking (through their own webpage) queen sized bed and air condition. When i got to the hotel i got, what they called, "an upgrade" so i got a suite at the top with a comfortable 30 degrees indoor and an air-condition that was blowing outside air aka, a wall mounted fan. The night guy was really friendly and offered me 00:25 a room with a functioning AC but no queen sized bed. Second night i got a room with AC and a queen sized bed, but the AC stopped working with the outside temp got to 25, then it just shut down and the room got hot and humid again. I paid an extra $25 to get a queensized bed and when i went to the front desk and demanded a refund or a voucher they kept their line saying i got an upgrade of my room and was not eligible for a $20 (out of a total 200-250$). They however did refund me the $20 when i compared the upgrade from a rental car if you order a compact car but get a Rolls Royce with three wheels; in theory its an upgrade but you still want to be able to ride the car. It is a shame for the hotel, everything else was great and they would have gotten away with it if they at least showed some interest in customer success management.

Lovely stay at a beautiful old hotel Beautiful old hotel centrally located in Bergen op Zoom. Situated right at the square, you don’t have to travel far to see the sites. The rooms are very quiet and for an old building surprisingly spacious. Above all, the staff is helpful snd very friendly. We really enjoyed our stay here!

Charming historic hotel This hotel was excellent in every way. It is an absolutely beautiful historic building, with an interesting history, set in a stunning location. The staff were the kindest people, the place was spotlessly clean, and the wellness spa was fantastic. I stayed in the room with our dog while my family enjoyed the spa and so that I didn't miss out, the lovely lady on reception kept the spa open for extra time just for me to experience too. The kind gesture meant so much. This is an old building and you need to expect creaking and a little noise from the square and this is all part of the charm. Our rooms had wooden ceilings that were unique, rustic and so beautiful. The bed was the most comfortable bed we have ever slept in. We highly recommend this hotel and would definitely use again. Super place to be! The Hotel and especially the staff are memorable. Every day was an enjoyment. Special thanks to the restaurant team and greatest! The Chef is making the dishes the highest class, so keep it TOP! Many other good things to add, but one is clear, i will always return here.

The oldest and one of the most romantic hotels you can find in the Netherlands…. And directly located next to the Market NL’s oldest and therefore most historic hotel you can find…and also one of NL’s most romantic hotels you can find. Directly located next to the ‘grote Markt’ so make sure that you book a room on the first or second floor with Market View… bit also make sure that the airconditioning is okay. Ours was broken so we had to open the window….and we’re welcomed with cosy terrace noice until 03.30 am…. And the hotel itself is old so made out of wood…and wood is also noisy…. In short: don’t forget to bring your earplugs
