Worst Hotel Ever! The price is cheap but it is the worst hotel experience I have ever had. There is no elevator and I was on the 3rd floor. I can't believe there is no elevator in an extended stay hotel. 2nd surprise: There is also no ice machine! The room also smells like old mildew and so all of my clothes did by the next morning. Run away!

Terrible Service and staff Walked in at 9:20PM to a empty lobby with no one at front desk, had to ask loudly "Is anyone here?" got zero response. Then I walked up stairs to find a guy watching TV and ask him if he knew where the front desk person was. He didn't really give me a response just walk behind the counter and asked what can I do for you? When I get up Saturday morning I found there are no towels in the bathroom so I go back to the front desk at 7:05AM just to find the same thing no one at the front counter, I looked all around the lobby and still found no one. I go back to my room take my shower with nothing to dry off with then go back to the lobby at 7:25AM and still no one at the front desk. I get in late that night, get up Sunday Morning and guess what? Still no towels in the bath room. I go back to the front desk and to my surprise there is a person at the desk. I ask can I please have a towel so I can take a shower? She replied the maids don't get in till 8:00AM and she would tell them to bring me one then. I told her I was checking out by 7:45AM so don't bother. I paid $114.00 a night for service like this?? Do your self a favor and NEVER stay here.

Terrible I was supposed to stay here for three nights ... This place is in dire need to be completely renovated, starting with the staff! The front desk clerk didn’t even look up when I walked in. The first room I was checked into was already occupied. I dragged my luggage back downstairs and after she called around to figure things out, she finally checked my in a different room. I went back upstairs, keys don’t work. Another Trip to the Front desk. She rekeyed the key card and it still doesn’t work. I go back downstairs and the office is closed. I tracked her down outside, sitting in her car. Another rekeying of my cards and I finally make it in the room. The room is very dated and has a nasty smell. I didn’t even unpack, called Hotwire and rebooked to another Hotel. the lobby is dirty and has a big hole in the ceiling! My advice: STAY AWAY!

Be sure to pack rubber soled slippers and Febreze! I will not stay at the Wildwood (State Farm Parkway) location again or recommend it to people who, like me, have jobs in the Birmingham/Homewood area and need a place to stay Monday-Thursday because their homes are too far away for a daily commute. The only good thing about the location is the office staff, who were very friendly! The exterior of property is dark and feels old and unsafe, with people hanging out in the parking lot, working on cars (every single night...) It just feels sketchy. Unloading/loading luggage from my car, was very inconvenient, since there isn't an elevator - stairs are the only way to get to the 2nd floor from the lobby/office and there are no luggage carts, which would have been helpful since I had several clothes bags/a few groceries and work related items...you know, enough stuff for an EXTENDED stay. I felt like a pack-mule! The room itself smelled stale and musty; the carpet was disgustingly dirty (word of advice, if you spill a bottle of water, just let it dry on its own because you do not want to witness what a white towel will soak up - See above reference to rubber soled slippers); the mattress sagged on the sides and had a big hump in the middle, and the pillows stank. Febreze helped with the smell but not the uneasy feeling I had about the lingering source of the odor - glad I packed my own pillow. The kitchen appliances and TV are outdated. The oven settings were no longer visible so you have no idea what temperature it is set on...and the fact that any and all kitchen items must be requested from the office, including a coffee maker which is standard in all other hotel rooms, is very inconvenient. The microwave worked, so I guess that's the silver lining. Thank goodness for my phone's hot spot, a laptop and Netflix/Amazon Prime accounts, because the (Dish) satellite-cable was always searching for a signal and the free WiFi kept disconnecting. The bathroom is small and does not have counter space for toiletries/make-up and, like the rest of the room, did not seem clean. Oh, and keep in mind that you will need to stand on a chair or the bed in order to see how you look before you leave the room....no full length mirror. Grab-and-go breakfast....? The baskets of pre-packaged muffins and granola bars were not stocked daily and were empty on at least one occasion. Considering everything else, missing out on the complimentary breakfast was no big deal! Since my first and only experience at Extended Stay America Wildwood, two weeks ago, I have been staying at the Country Inn and Suites by Radisson, which is cleaner, comparably priced and located in the same general area....and they have a real, hot breakfast!!
