5 Star Service I’ve been traveling for work for 15+ years and this is the nicest staff I have ever encountered. The front desk, the restaurant waitress, and especially the valet parking. My stay was 3 nights and I used the valet parking. I didn’t have any cash initially and so I didn’t tip the valet guy. For 3 days I was treated like a 5 Star guest by Devyn, even though he got no tip. He greeted me by name, retrieved my car if he saw me waiting, and was very nice to me. His service exceeded my expectations! Thankfully I had cash on the last day and was able to tip him. Devyn is a 5 Star employee. I highly recommend this hotel.

Unprofessional front desk Think twice before booking here. The absolute WORST customer service by the miserable worker at the front desk. We’re moving from Texas and have a U-Haul and trailer attached mind you it was 9:30 pm, we see that there is no parking so I call the front desk and asked about parking, when the sorry ass receptionist rudely starts yelling saying that she doesn’t deal with the valet because it’s from a third party, she then yells I’ll just cancel your reservation and hangs up on me. I call back and does not answer the phone! The MOST unprofessional person I have ever encountered. Did not even try to help at all or try to understand what I was telling her.

Better options out there It’s a cool old hotel building with a lot of history. My specific room was very musty smelling and the decor is just very old and falling apart. Wallpaper peeling off the walls in the bathroom, tub and shower tiles that need to be caulked, etc. The room is very spacious so if you have a larger group, this wouldn’t be a bad choice. The TVs use technology from 1978 so no watching of Netflix or anything like that. The mattress was extremely uncomfortable and needed to be replaced five years ago. The AC unit struggled badly to cool the room on a humid evening.

Great Hotel The hotel is older but accommodating. The room was clean and everything worked. The staff were all very nice and the breakfast was one of the most comprehensive Continental Breakfasts I have been to. The valet service was great, Mike really had one of the best attitudes I've experienced. He was very helpful upbeat and quick. Thanks everyone for a wonderful business trip.

Wish more was offered... Very historic! But the room had a funny smell, the pillows reaked! Would have been nice to have a small fridge and microwave as we had left overs from dinner we ended up having to throw away. Bathroom was pretty. Someone's dog was barking though. Breakfast left alot to be desired. Powdered eggs, not sure what the sausage was made of but looked funny so we didn't eat. My honest opinion was it was worth $169.00. Will probably stay at another Hampton but not the Tutwiler. Sorry :(
