Thank you to Hanna I wanted to take a moment to give a shout out to Hanna at the front desk, who was so wonderfully, genuinely welcoming to us upon our check-in and in answering all of our questions. After being on the road for so long, it was really nice being welcomed so kindly.

Little to recommend These suites are across the street from the Mall of America. There are several chain restaurants nearby and it's also close to a wildlife refuge with hiking and jogging trails. The suites are spacious and well-furnished but nothing at this property has been updated in many years. The bathtub had an unsightly scuff from paint wearing off. There's an included breakfast, but it's limited and pretty terrible. The pool is tiny and the fitness center is even smaller. So it's a hotel for longer stays but not one where you'd enjoy such a stay. That's probably a 3-star stay, but for the entire first day I was here, the computer system was down and I did not have a wi-fi or even a room key. Staff had to escort guests to re-open rooms. This problem was literally not fixed for a full day.

Not a safe area. Overall the hotel was nice, employees were nice. My main complaint was the aggressive homeless population outside the hotel. I was approached three times over my stay which was one night. I didn’t feel safe in that area. And I’m a retired police officer so I know how to take care of myself. This is a serious problem for this location. This is the only time I have not given a positive review to a hotel. Ever. I will not be staying at this location again and will recommend against it to anyone who asks me. One of the times I was approached was at a rear door that required a key card to enter. The door was blocked by two homeless people begging for money. I couldn’t get into that door because of them and had to walk around to the front door. When I came in I told the front desk associate about it and she said they had already called police because when she asked them to leave they spat in her face. This area needs to hire private security to deal with this problem. The staff aren’t safe and the customers aren’t safe. On a lesser note, weekend breakfast that ends at 9:30 is ridiculous. In actuality it ended before 9. People were asking for food that had run out and were told everything was frozen and could not be replenished. Staff knows it’s a problem because when I checked in the night before the desk clerk said to the guy ahead of me he should go to breakfast early to have the best selection because they commonly run out of things. And while I’m at it, only 1 ice machine?! For the entire building? Also below industry standards. Customers were complaining about their digital keys not working trying to access the laundry room where the ice machine was located. I’m only giving two stars because the staff was friendly and helpful. Otherwise it would be a one star rating. I won’t be back.

Great time Great time here rhoda was fantastic so very friendly and help us so many times , the rest of the staff were great as well even told us about the shuttle bus that would take us to the super market and back when we phoned them so much easier than carrying heavy bags. Found it was a very quick walk to mall of America . Breakfast was ok and was worth it to have something to eat before setting off for the day.

penny wise n pound foolish I called a week ahead of my trip and a man told me it would be $10 per day to park my car at the Homewood Suites. When I got there, the front desk told me that it was $15. This threw me off completely. The front desk attendant was willing to help me since the hotel made the error but the general manager pretty much cursed at me saying that was the price and I had to pay or she would call the police. This general manager is penny wise and pound foolish, I was not trying to pull a fast one and think it is better business to appease the guest when the hotel is wrong than accuse them of lying. I was reluctant to pay not so much because they made the error but because of how poorly the general manager treated me as a customer
