Hyatt Vacation Club at Coconut Cove, Bonita Springs

Rip Off We had a reservation as part of an offer they had going on. It happened that major storm "Debby" hit the gulf coast and FL on the day we were supposed to check in and the state declared a state of emergency in many of the counties in the south west and western part of the state. I called to reschedule, they refused to let me reschedule without charging me a fee. The other option they gave me was to forfeit my reservation. I lost 350$. As someone who travels 100 days a year at least, I learned to never book anything with Hyatt ever again.

We had high hopes for this property. Wr have been Hyatt owners for 20 years. The property is absolutely stunning as well as the lazy river and pools. Although our air conditioner broke twice the second time they came up, it was fixed properly. The trip to the private beach was mediocre at best, we went once and will not go back. We ordered 2 drinks and after 50 minutes we decided to leave but was charged anyway. We are still here, but I did go to the front desk and they said it would be taken off, we will see upon check out. The gaming room is five dollars an hour per child. I was offered a fan I had to ask for it three times and I still never got it on the fourth time, I finally got some kind of air purifier thing that made our room smell very weird and offered no relief as far as air circulation, all I wanted was a fan for my room because it was still warm in there. In the master bathroom, the repair of the tile, it looks very, very unprofessionally done, it's actually kind of embarrassing, especially for the type of property that this place is. Went to get a pillow out of the spare bedroom closet and there was hair all over it. Went to exchange pool towels we were told that it would be twenty minutes and that if we needed them immediately, we could go and get our own from the front desk. The bottles in the shower were either missing product or we had multiple of the same and none of one, like one shampoo and two conditioners, no body wash. The ceiling fans in the rooms and patios go so slow and are of no use. We always say at the Wild Oak Rqmch in San Antonio, that is our home property, and is definitely much more well run than this property. I was told that there are water slides here, there are none. As we sit outside on our patio it smells like raw sewer. We were definitely disappointed in this property and we were so excited to come here, but there are definitely some things that need major improvement. But again, the pool, the lazy river, can't get any better than this place, it is absolutely breathtaking here.The grounds are absolutely gorgeous.

A Mixed Bag We've been to this resort a number of times, as a family of four. For this visit, we had a two bedroom villa for 7 nights during the week of July 4th. Clearly, the outside pools and the lazy river are the highlight of the resort. The villas are large, but buildings 1, 2, and 3 are in desperate need of a full renovation! They are also in desperate need of a deep clean! The rugs are dirty and worn. The sofas/chairs have stains. The moldings are dusty and dirty. The lighting is dim. The walls/doors are nicked and stained. The verandah screens were filthy. I could go on and on. Basically, the vibe is dingy, dated, and dirty! They definitely need more staff around the pool, especially for food/drink service. The front desk is well staffed and efficient, but not overly friendly. It's fairly easy to reserve the shuttle/boat to the beach and the ride is pleasant. The beach on Big Hickory is just okay. There is major construction going on at and around the resort - a Hyatt sales building and the Ritz Residences next door! There are more dining selections at the sister resort - Hyatt Regency. Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed the pools and outdoor space. The 2 bedroom villa left little to be desired. Staff did their job, but never went out of their way to please. I really used to love this resort, but some of the magic has definitely disappeared.

Itchy mess BED BUGS! Management tried to say I was bitten by noseeums but these bites happened while I was sleeping in bed. Red blood streaks were on the sheets in the morning and I had intense itching. Bitches were in lines down my arms and across my back. I don’t leave the hotel room without spraying myself with Deet bug spray because I’m allergic to mosquitos. I had no problem with bites at the beach or pool. Hotel will not take accountability and the next person in the room will suffer as well.

Another great pool stay! We have been coming to this resort for over 10 years during the summer. The grounds and lazy river are outstanding and kept in tiptop shape. The rooms need a major overhaul as I’ve said in previous years reviews. They’re building a large sales center in the back of the property. If they would take the money for that and upgrade the rest of the buildings, it would be a much more pleasant stay!
