The Brunswick Hotel

Very well run hotel. Clean and well maintained. Employees very polite. Free breakfast generous and well prepared. Times where no one was up at the front desk though. Also thermostat in the room self-adusted and required constant attention. Parking was insufficient when programs at nearby Bowdoin College were going on.

Very Nice, But... We just got home from a 2-night stay at the Brunswick hotel. It was quite lovely in all. But, if I'm being honest, it was not the level of service you would expect for what it sets you back. The pillows at the hotel were the best part of the somewhat small room. The restaurant food was quite good, however, the level of service and lack of Happy Birthday chocolate on the comped dessert was lackluster. I know this seems insignificant, but if we were at Davio's it would have been a different story for the same amount of $. JS

Lovely hotel This was one of the best hotel experiences of my life. And I live in hotels! They were so thoughtful about my husbands birthday dinner. The chef at restaurant was phenomenal. All the details are good! Clean, great location, caring sweet staff.

Welcoming and fancy hotel The service at the front desk was great. I had a late arrival and was greeted with a delicious cookie and tea. The room was beautiful and the bed was very comfortable. I liked having a refrigerator and microwave. I took the train to Brunswick and it was great having the hotel in walking distance. In the morning I was running late and I was able to take my continental breakfast to go. The decaf coffee was delicious as was the scone. Having a newspaper was great as well. Loved the magazines in the lobby next to a fire. This is my second stay and I recommend this hotel.

Wonderful Hotel! Amazing Staff! Lovely Restaurant! What a lovely hotel! Charming, quaint, quiet, and very centrally located in friendly Brunswick, Maine. Very convenient for catching the Amtrak Downeaster to Boston! We made a last minute booking here as our car had issues and had to be checked in to an auto shop. What luck! As a result of our vehicular misfortune we got to stay at the wonderful Brunswick Hotel. Because it was very last minute, the booking didn’t come through on the hotel’s reservation system, so we were invited to sit in the quiet, comfortable lobby with a cup of tea and a cookie till the reservation came through. We waited for a while and check in staff were very apologetic, but we were quite happy to relax and enjoy the ambiance. One of the hotel staff then came over with a gift bag, more apologies and an upgrade to a suite! Amazing! That’s the way to run a hotel!! We couldn’t have been happier. We then relaxed in our enormous corner suite for a bit until freshening up to go down to dinner, which was superb. The restaurant, however, deserves a separate, glowing review. As a result of this unplanned spontaneous stay, my husband and I learned a valuable lesson - to use a minor misfortune like a car breakdown many miles from home, to take a break, slow down and spend time to enjoy life. We cannot recommend The Brunswick Hotel highly enough. It’s a charming, quiet, very centrally-located gem of a boutique hotel and we will definitely be back. Rather than rushing down to Boston to stay at a horrible airport hotel before catching a flight out, in future we will take a leisurely drive down to Brunswick, stay overnight at here, hop on the Downeaster to Boston, then Lyft/Uber it to Logan. I cannot recommend this hotel highly enough! Thank you, Brunswick Hotel, for making an unplanned, unwanted visit so special and turning our misfortune into an absolute joy!
