Lovely hotel & staff! My friend and I celebrated our birthdays & the GM gave us a personal tour of this lovely historical hotel. All the staff were kind & helpful. Our suite was two rooms and had lovely sheets. I slept so well. The restaurant fare and drinks were fantastic. Overall a 5 star stay! We will be making this our birthday gathering spot from here on. Thank y’all!

I was in Bryan, Tx for a magazine photo shoot The only really good things I can say about this hotel is the front desk girl, Elaina was EXCEPTIONAL. The beds were very comfortable HOWEVER the rest of the staff need to take some lessons from Elaina. I could excuse the no parking and the confusion of the entrance into the hotel. However I walked around outside in 100 degree weather looking for the entrance. I finally got the resteraunt to unlock their doors and when I asked where the front desk was, I was rudely told "Over there". no hand gestures, no looks in the right direction just "over there" Once we did get to the desk they tried to tell me my credit card would not work. When I showed them the balance on my card and the email I received quoting me a price, they would not honor the price. Thank god it was a prepaid card and I was able to go add money to it. However when I did that, they maxed out my card and charged my card close to $300 when I was quoted $192. Then when we were given our room, it was so hot in there that we were literally sweating just sitting there. So I had to go to front desk and complain. The manager came out and was a little tacky. I excused the behaviour due to me being tired from a 7 hour drive and hoped it was just me misconstrueing the attitude. She sent Elaina to our room which was so small (we literally had to climb from the foot of the bed and over our luggage to get to the bathroom...which had no bathtub as I requested). Elaina let the manager know that the ac was broke in the room and the heater was blowing. Relunctly the manager upgraded us to the 5th floor and to a room with a bath tub. The ac was not working properly but at least it was better than the original room. When we went to look for the bathrobes that were advertised was in the room, we could not find them. So I let the manager know. She did personally bring us bathrobes and let us know that the bathsalts she brought was the last and out of her persnal budget. We thanked her. She then gave us a free meal voucher and a free drink voucher. Around 4 pm saturday we went to the resteraunt. I showed the vouchers to the waitress explained I was giving my model the meal, I was taking the free drink and I would pay for her drink. The waitress argued with us for 10 minutes asking if we wanted to use the vouchers for 2 drinks. I repeatedly told her I was buying my model a drink. I was taking the free drink and I was giving the meal to my model. When I handed her my credit card to pay for 1 drink, she maxed out my card AGAIN. This is when I could no longer stay calm. I went up to my room and called the manager instead of causing a scene in the lobby. I called her from my personal phone due to no phone being in the room. She then threw it in my face that she had upgraded us at no charge, moved us to a higher floor, took bathrobes and meal voucher out of her personal budget and so on. I tried to explain to her had everything been in the room as advertised she would not have had to use her personal budget and had the original room had a working ac we could have used it. While I was upstairs on the phone, my model over heard the bartender and waitress complaining about me to other guest saying I was being unreasonable and emotional. Once we started doing our shoot, we were denied access to areas that we were offered to shoot in the day before. My editor and I were given dirty looks by the staff as we sat at a table after the shoot going through paperwork. The following morning I went to go use the elevator to bring my photography equipment down, to discover the elevator was now broke. When I made a comment about this to the manager, her response was " I am so over this. I am so over you. You are the only person who has complained all weekend. I am so over you" When I asked for help to carry stuff down (I also have a medical condition where I am not suppose to lift over 10lbs) I was denied help. So I asked my model to finish carrying stuff down. I then called priceline to let them know what had happened. My model over heard the manager telling someone "I cant believe this woman is so bitchy. Now she wants a refund. You cant make this bitch happy". I asked for a refund or at least a partial refund. I was promised at least $50 back at which I have yet to receive. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS HOTEL

Nice room. The young Lady who ran the desk on Friday morning was a breath of fresh air. We had a situation occur and she went above and beyond to fix it. I travel a lot and when someone (such as that young lady) shows up and helps with no expectations but to highlight your Hotel you have a keeper.

Awesome Hotel! Comfy beds, clean room, cool old vibe. . Hotel is soon to renovate an already great hotel too. Train horn was the only problem but it was only 1 time at night. The city is working on a quiet zone, once that's done it will be perfect!
