no privacy at all You have to be very careful while you stay at this hotel. The staff came into your room even with privacy sign on. They will go into your room even its not check out time yet. The room attendant does not speak english. If you trying to make a complaint its no use at all.

3rd year in a row staying here The hotel is dated but has a lovely grand lobby area. The staff are all very friendly from desk to cleaning staff. The rooms and hotel was very clean. Although room is a bit small for a family of 4, it is our 3rd time staying here in 3 years and we would stay here again if in Buffalo.

Tired, Beaten-up and Dirty. As a World of Hyatt Explorist, I am a frequent traveller. During my recent stay at this tired property I was stunned to see extreme neglect throughout. Inarguably, the guestrooms were beaten-up, dirty and smelled foul. I can't help but wonder how it maintains a Hyatt flag. Clearly, based upon hundreds of other reviews, I'm not alone with my shocking observations during my stay. A note to management...please, please do not insult me with the same or similar copy/paste response all other reviewers receive.

Interesting elevator. Old but nice! Will stay against n The hotel was very nice. It is old, and it is different from other Hyatt Regency that they do not carry the same brand hair care product. They have their own small bottles of toiletry items. Very quiet for being in downtown. Elevators were very interesting! It had a touch screen rather than buttons! I would visit again.

No cold water, dangerously hot shower Health hazard!! DO NOT STAY HERE UNTIL THEY CAN PROMISE THIS HAS BEEN FIXED. All you need to know: HOT water coming out the COLD tap and toilet. If you let it run for a few seconds it does not cool down. This place has old, like pre-1985 shower fixtures that have obviously corroded inside and are allowing hot water to run through all the cold water pipes. Took one shower splashing scalding hot water because I couldn't stand under it to figure out there was a problem. I told the desk at 4pm Friday and they said they’d “look into it”, but no one came to our room. Later I found that the hot water was also coming out the cold sink tap and toilet. I went to the desk in the morning and asked if this was an issue throughout the hotel and they said “It’s not the first time I’m hearing about it, but no, it’s not every room”. They gave me the room next door and I immediately tried the sink tap and, guess what? Same problem in that room. Drinking hot water from a tap is a serious health risk, it becomes full of heavy metals that are easily dissolved by the hot, corrosive water. By running hot water through the cold water pipes and taps, this is what you are drinking, even if the water cools down. So forget about coffee in your room, filling a water bottle, etc. Even brushing your teeth with hot water just feels kind of gross. I will be researching whether this is a health code violation, but I can’t believe management is so willing to risk the health of visitors. I gave a two because other than the water issue, it was close to downtown theaters, a mile from waterfront park. It’s an aging hotel but was clean quiet and decent otherwise. UPDATE: They sent an engineering tech to our room (at 7:30am on a Sunday morning), but nothing was fixed when we returned later that day. We ended up staying because moving to another hotel would have been a pain. The Hyatt made no offer to reduce the rate or any other kind of compensation for not having cold water and not being able to shower properly for three days.
