A very unsettling experience. The staff and management would not accept my dog as a ESA (Emotional Service Animal). He wears a service vest with the Canadian Certificate on it. I suffer from PTSD from my work as a First Responder. I’ve just returned from an eight day road trip and The Best Western in Caldwell ID was the only place that did not accept my dog as a service dog. I had to pay an additional $20/night fee for a pet dog. As mentioned earlier no other hotels on this last trip charged me for my necessary support dog. There are many people that suffer from PTSD as a result of their careers in service. I would be unable to travel alone without my service dog.

Not good The room smelled horrible of wet stinky dogs!! Our "view" was of the junkyard. No queen handicapped rooms available. Hard to get in and out of tub!No handicap rails in bathtub.I slipped and almost fell getting in and out of tub! Loved staying there last year. This year was not the same at all!!

Great experience! Check in is easy and quick . Friendly and helpful staff. The rooms are Clean and spacious at least the ones with king beds. The breakfast is pretty good different choices to choose from and staff keeps it stocked and clean. We always stay here because it’s close to my moms care facility.

At least conside other local properties I would give this property 2 1/2 bubbles, between fair and poor. I was here for two nights coming into Caldwell/ Boise on business. I try to stay at Best Western Plus properties because I know I will get a superior experience. This property should be called a Best Western Minus Plus because it did not deliver as the name implied. There were good things about the stay: the bed was comfortable and the room (see bathroom exception later in the review) was on the overall well maintained. The breakfast was adequate and the dining area was well maintained. The chair at the desk was excellent Problems: The internet was a bit slow but more annoying was the fact you have to sign in every time you use it, even on the same day or hour. A total pain and an unnecessary task. The check in was a nightmare due to a failure of the motel's system to take all my information when the reservation was made...it would not accept the signature (but this was not revealed until check in). This caused a real issue for my partner when he checked in. The trainee and the staff member on hand could not resolve the issue and he had to use his cc. There was no notice given to me that the rooms would not be made up or supplies (soap, towels etc.) replenished during the day. It was a surprise to come back after a hard day's work to find the room as one left it. This was especially galling because the cost to stay here in the middle of Idaho was more like staying in Chicago! The bathroom had an odor of mold. Mold could be seen around the edge of the bathtub/shower. This could be a serious health issue. The breakfast was okay even if the eggs looked to be and tasted like powdered eggs. If these were fresh eggs from Idaho chickens, new birds are needed. I have had much better BW Plus breakfasts offered. Now the stay was not terrible, just not worth the slightly over $200 per night cost of staying here. I would advise at least checking out other properties in Caldwell or staying in Boise! I doubt I would return.
