Smelly, shabby, unpleasant When I went to check in, the man on the reception couldn't understand me. I speak English very clearly... He didn't. His boss came and sorted it out. Then advised me I had been charged twice. He did fix it. The room was smelly, luckily we could open the window and let some fresh air in. The sheets and quilt cover had many holes in them. They were that thin I could see all the stains in the mattress protector. The hallway smelled of curry. The Continental breakfast was very basic. I would never stay here again.

Dated, Dirty, Disappointing Not sure how this Super 8 has a 4 star rating, I think sleeping in my car would have been better. We booked here due to the price and location, but will do better research in the future. The entire property is dated, dirty and run down, including the parking lot, the lobby, the hallway and room. Upon arrival I immediately wished I could have cancelled my reservation. The area is sketchy and there are people living in their cars in the parking lot. The lobby smells strongly of curry. There was no one at the front desk, so we rang the bell and a woman with her baby in a stroller appeared and checked us in. This place looks like it’s falling apart. The first-floor hallway has a leaking pipe from the ceiling. You have to shimmy around the garbage can placed below to collect the dripping water. The room is dated, there is no fridge, and the door didn’t always close securely. The wash cloth I used appeared to be dirty or stained, the bedding looked worn, dirty and had holes. There was a French fry left behind from previous guests, so rooms aren’t cleaned very well. The shower drain is extremely slow. Because of the condition of the property, we decided not to have the free breakfast. I’m thankful we only stayed one night.

Should've slept in my car instead I have no idea how this place has a 4.5 star rating. First, my boyfriend arrived 20 min before me and although his name was not on ANYTHING they gave him the room keys. All he had to give them was my name. He don't even have to give my license plate number. They had nothing other than his word that he was affiliated with me. In fact, I never had to check in with the front desk at all. As a woman, this is terrifying. Then bedding was soiled when we checked in. There were bugs along the wall in the bathroom. There was a poop stain (I hope that's what it was) on the ceiling. There was no water pressure in the shower at all. I had to practically run circles under the show to get wet. They gave us 2 towels for 2 adults and then charged $3 for each additional towel. I'm diabetic and there included breakfast (the main factor for me booking the room) did not include anything I could eat. It was literally all carbs and sugar! No eggs. No meats. It was waffles, sugar coated cereal, toast, bagels, chocolate muffins, yogurt which included 40g sugar each, and bananas (high on the glycemic index). So after booking this specific hotel for the included breakfast, I had to go buy breakfast anyway. But wait, there's more! When I complained about them giving my hotel key to a man without calling to notify me or making him wait until I got there....the staff didn't even speak English! Oh and the A/C didn't work because they apparently never clean the filters for it.

Pleasant enough It’s a Good value, and we had a pleasant stay. The staff was accommodating and polite. Nothing too fancy, the only thing was the overwhelming smell of cleaning products. The property was very close to grocery shopping and restaurants. We we’re taking the Royal Gorge Train trip and the property was conveniently close.

A place to lay your head - comfy bed!! The room was a bit shabby and uncared for, but it was clean and the bedding was lovely (as was the bed). A bit out of town and away from restaurants, but breakfast was very good and Canon City is a nice little town.
