Convenience, Efficiency, Gractiousness: A Five-Star Hampton Inn From the first smile on Jose's face when we checked in to the convenient location to the helpful service and the delicious breakfast after one of the "best sleeps" of a long trip, this is one of the best locations in "the Hamptons!" Jose helped us with a list of local restaurants, good directions. He has a layer of kindness for travelers just beneath his talent for hospitality. This young man is a rising star...and we grateful travelers "just know it!"

Great Location! Great Service! The Hampton Inn Encinitas is a wonderful place to stay when visiting the area. The lobby and rooms were clean, beds comfortable, and shower pressure was good. All the people that work there were very cordial and accommodating. The breakfast is expansive and fully stocked. As others have mentioned, the water refill station needs some work as it takes time to both fill water and/or ice. Only other concern is that the lighting and HVAC are controlled on motion sensor (Eaton) and can surprise you by going off if you're not moving around in the room for longer than 30 minutes. This location is great and there is a Mexican restaurant that is quite enjoyable right next door to the gas station/liquor store. We did not use the pool or hot tub. There is also a suite shop to purchase food and drink items in the lobby. Thank you for a wonderful stay!

Comfortable and Well Maintained Got a room for my family who was visiting. Hotel was comfortable and convenient. Five minutes from the beach. Breakfasts were great with a nice assortment of options including eggs and make your own waffles. Parking was free. I've rented different local hotels for family but from now on will only reserve at the Hampton in Encinitas.

Greyish LED lighting and pervasive bleach odor give such a bad, institutional vibe to this place, I drove home instead. I got such a bad vibe in the place, I had to write a review. I have had many pleasant stays at other Hampton Inns. This one, I wonder if something's gone wrong with the management. I booked a stay for two nights, to be close to a work site. Talk about institutional! Pervasive odor of bleach from the minute you enter the lobby. Room not ready at 3 p.m. as advertised, and only one visible staffer in the lobby. I don't mind waiting a few minutes, but you'd think that at check-in time maybe the extra person visible in the office behind could lend a hand? A multitude of cleaning staff on the second floor, many carts in the hall, but some were just standing around talking. Poor ventilation in hallways and elevator (I entered it at one point after someone extremely dirty and sweaty had been in it, apparently. The smell was so heavy I had to get out and use the stairs instead.) Cold greyish LED light in the hallways and in the room -- not enough lights at that -- no ceiling pots, just two bedside lamps and a desk lamp, plus the entryway switch and bathroom switch (which automatically go off). Peeling wallpaper in a corner by the shower, because the shower stall sliding door wouldn't stay entirely closed. Skewed pull-down shade. Finger smudges on bedside lamp panels and wall "art" (plastic strips of various colors) Noisy air unit. Mattress so worn out it had a pronounced dip in the middle. Cheap coffee set-up with no cream or creamers. Typical Hampton Inn "free breakfast" offered with powdered eggs and greasy sausages, cereal, but no yogurt. When I returned after my first work day, I noticed used condoms on the ground in the parking lot. I decided not to stay the second night and drove home instead.

Super 5 night stay Great value, comfortable, clean, updated rooms. Staff was attentive and friendly. I love a free breakfast with lots of options. the pool was just ok for a quick dip. Great location to highway but not noisy. Cardiff by the sea & beach were close by. Surprised by $10 nightly parking fee
