Very nice hotel and super helpful staff Charleston is very expensive and we were on a budget. The lovely lady at reception was able to get the price down to a more affordable rate for us. There is delicious pink lemonade and coffee available at all times and a good breakfast. There are several decent places to eat nearby, with walking distance and downtown Charleston in’s a short drive away. Would recommend this hotel.

Shouldn't be part of the Choice Hotel brand I was here for an overnight stay at this hotel, and I must say that this hotel does not need to be part of the Choice Hotels brand. When I tried to turn the TV on, I found that the remote control did not have batteries inside. I tried to call the front desk but found that the phone was inoperative. Therefore, I had to take a walk to the front desk. The front desk clerk was very helpful and assisted and obtaining batteries to operate the remote control. After returning to the room, I still couldn't get the TV to operate, and after further doing some troubleshooting, I found the TV and the cable box to be unplugged. The next morning, when I looked inside the freezer, I found there was a box of food that was left, which is an indication that the staff did not do their job in cleaning the room. I also found that the alarm clock had quite a bit of dust on top of it and that it also had frayed cord that was plugged into the lamp on the nightstand, which is a big safety issue. The lamps looked old and rusted and should be replaced. The on/off button for the AC unit was worn out, and you could barely turn the unit on . Also, the next morning, when I went to the ice machine to get some ice, I found the machine was not operative. I brought it to the attention of the desk clerk and was given an unprofessional response ( that is not my responsibility. I don't have anything to do with it) I was very stunned at the comment and just turned and walked away. My advice is to stay clear of this facility.

Basically, it's a scam by any other name Booked through Priceline after reading the pet policy. Arrived to take the room, and at first they said they couldn't find the reservation. Once they were able to call Priceline and verify that I did have a reservation (a 20+ minute process) they then said that I didn't have a room that allowed pets, and to change to one that did with would be another $70 and they would require a room deposit. I once again deferred to the advertised rate on Priceline and what was listed as included. They ended up telling me to leave and not doing a refund. Cannot recommend staying, or even booking here. Someone with a 'dozer should just take down this waste of space and burden to the community.

DO NOT STAY HERE This hotel has horrible customer service. The man accused me of booking smoking rooms (when I have email proof I didn’t) and then wouldn’t let us change to non smoking rooms even though he said they were available. He wouldn’t even let us book again (essentially paying for 4 rooms). The corporate office sent me back to the hotel owner and I have yet to get a response. The super 8 down the street is absolutely worth staying at. This hotel deserves negative stars but that isn’t an option.

Psycho desk clerk I’m a sixty five year old handicap woman so before making my reservation I called the hotel to confirm that they had a downstairs room available. She was waiting on another customer so she put me on hold and came back after finishing with them and confirmed that she had a downstairs for me. I completed the reservation online and drove the 1.7 miles to the hotel. Less than 5 minutes after talking to her. .She told me then that she didn’t have a downstairs. I told her to cancel the reservation then that I couldn’t climb the stairs. She refused to cancel it because it was after 4 and I told her that I had only made the reservation because she told me they had a downstairs room that she needed to cancel the reservation. At this point she went totally psycho and started screaming at me to get out or she was going to call the police. I told please do and that I was calling Choice while we waited for them and get it cancelled. She continued screaming at me while I was on hold with Choice and then went to the back room. In a few minutes she returned still screaming and said her boss had canceled the reservation. What she didn’t know was that the gentleman with me was an off duty police officer and would have been more than happy to speak with the police she threatened me with.
