Not a bac place, if you can get past the management The rooms are compact but well designed; overall, the room was clean and the beds were comfy. Parking is convenient to the entrances. Breakfast was basic but served the need. Wish I could be as positive about the management; their focus is on their own needs - not those of the guest. // Check-in is especially crazy. the first time we reserved here, their Internet was down and they expected us to leave our credit card with them overnight so they could run it through when it came back up. When we refused, they told us to leave because they weren't going to give us a room. ///I mistakenly made another reservation here last month; this time they gave us keys for an already occupied room...and later, I punctured two tires by driving over 4.5cm nail-studded roof-replacement debris that had fallen onto the driveway. We'll never stay here again - for good reason, but if you want to see how it works for you, good luck.

Stay away if you value your health. This was the dirtiest motel I've ever encountered. When I touched the air conditioner to adjust temperature, the cover fell off and exposed nasty mold inside. The bathroom fan didn't have a cover and we could see the mold and dirt on the fan blades and wires. The room was dimly lit, the refrigerator wheezed all night, and the area under the edges of the bed looked as if they hadn't been vacuumed in a year. The bathtub was uninviting. The only good thing about our visit was the desk clerk. She was pleasant and helpful.

Beyond Nasty Bathroom should have been condemned - would not pass any inspection - nothing like the pictures shown online......... Toilet not set to floor; single sink coming out of the wall with exposed pipes and no vanity; filthy stained shower curtain; exhaust fan missing and boarded up with exposed wiring; no working smoke detector in room.....we only stayed because we were travelling with our dog and exhausted......

Terrible Customer Service; Accusatory Worker My mom and I booked a room at Red Roof Charleston, WV as a stopping point on our road trip. We chose Red Roof due to their known pet-friendly policies and were bringing our two dogs with us. The hotel lot was almost empty when we arrived. My mom checked us in and we got a room in the back. We were unloading the car when the man who worked there came out to the parking lot on a power trip. He berated my mom for “violating policy” to which she responded that she didn’t know she had … the man raised his voice at her for not knowing this specific location did not allow for two pets. He also accused her of lying to her about having pets even though he never asked at check-in. My mom sincerely apologized and told him she stays at Red Roof all the time and never has any issues bringing pets. The man proceeded to tell my mother that we had to leave and work with Expedia to get our money back. This is two days before Christmas, the hotel is EMPTY and this guy told us to repack the car and go find somewhere else to stay. My mom went to the lobby to see if the man would be contacting Expedia for assistance with the refund but he brushed her off and told her it was her problem because she booked through them. We were going to offer to get an additional room but the man was so unprofessional and accusatory, we chose to go elsewhere. On the way out of the parking lot, I stopped in the lobby to drop off the key and speak to the person in charge about the ma, his blatant disrespect and disregard for customer service. I asked if he was the manager and when he said no, I asked to speak with the manager. He told me the manager had the same opinions on their dog policy. I informed the man that I wasn’t overly concerned with the policy but sincerely more concerned with how he had just spoken to my 67 year old mother. I attempted to remind him that he was in the business of customer service and, as I was, he cut me off to tell me we “broke policy” and would not let me finish my sentence. When I told him I would like to finish my sentence, he again cut me off and told me to have a good night and get out of his lobby. He then threatened to CALL THE POLICE on me if I didn’t leave the lobby. I never got to speak with the manager of the property but the assistant manager made my mother cry. So terribly rude. We found a spot right across the street (Super 8, Days Inn, EconoLodge) with an amazingly friendly front desk guy named Matt! Amazing customer service and really nice man. Go there instead!

Terrible place Wish I give negative stars. We reserved 2 rooms for the night. It took us almost an hour to get checked in, the gentleman at the desk was the only positive thing at this place. We went to our rooms and our friends got right in their rooms without any problems. We tried to get into our room and the curtains were closed and the deadbolt was locked. Someone was in the room. We walked around the corner and the door to the room opened. I went back around to see who was there and the door slammed shut. My husband went to the front desk to let them know and came back with who I assume was the manager. She's yelling that there was no one in the room. Amazingly when she came upstairs the curtains to the room were open. She told my husband she was kicking us out. When he went to our friends room where I was waiting he screamed profanities at that that was not his room. He tried to tell her that they were with us and she said she was calling security and the police. He finally had to yell that they were with us because she wasn't listening. Her behavior was bizarre. She then yelled that our friends were also f-ing kicked out. She yelled over the railing for security and told us we were going to be arrested and that she was calling the police. We got our things and went down to the office to get our refund and there was a large man standing blocking the door while she was behind him screaming that we were liars. We told the man that we had no reason to lie and we just wanted the refund she said she was going to give us. She was screaming in the office that she had already refunded our money. He said she said one thing and we said another, but she was the one who paid him. I said all we want is our receipt to verify our refund. She was screaming in the office that we had to wait on the police. The police showed up as she finally gave us our receipt. We walked to our car and the the policeman came over with a puzzled look on his face and said, I have no idea what went on, but I suggest you don't come back. We told him we had no intention of ever coming back. I have never had such an odd experience in my life. All she had to say was I'm sorry, I'll check it out or give you another room. We weren't angry or upset to begin with. We just wanted a room for the night.
