Location is perfect The hotel is located in a great part of Chicago and you are a walk away from great restaurants. Love the view from the rooms. Hotel could has meeting rooms and can accommodate large meetings, which is really good. The rooms were clean, but the lobby could use some extra focus. The front desk staff is possibly new to the hospitality industry and seemed to be agitated by simple requests from guests.

Lacking customer service. I wouldn’t recommend this hotel with so many other options downtown Nothing went right with our stay. We booked online 2 months prior and requested an early check-in, 2 adjoining rooms, and in a quiet part of the hotel preferably on the highest floor possible. They didn’t deliver. On arrival, they told us that despite having seen our requests that other people who booked before also had requests, so they couldn't accommodate us. We paid an extra $20 per room to check in before 4 pm since our flight arrived early in the morning and we were exhausted. we wanted to nap. However, the hotel was too loud to be able to sleep. They gave us 2 rooms on the 1st floor with the elevator on one side and the entrance to the public bathrooms, pool, and gym on the other side. There was also a ton of street noise like sirens from police, ambulances, traffic, etc., so their windows aren't soundproof. I assumed it was during the day when most people are out and that things would be quiet at night. I was wrong. I went back to the hotel early to try to sleep since I was exhausted from 2 days of no sleep, but it was too loud to sleep. People in the hallway talking on their cellphones, arguing with their companions, doors slamming, kids running to and from the pool at all hours, it was so loud. The pool and gym are supposed to close at 10, so I wasn't expecting noise past midnight. I went down to the front desk just past midnight nearly in tears to ask if they had earplugs and the lady didn't know so she checked at reception then at the hotel store and said no. She said the CVS down the street might sell them if they were open, but she didn’t check if they were open nor give me directions. I’m not about to wander through Chicago past midnight in my nightgown hunting down earplugs. I asked if we could move and she said there were no rooms available, again. She said she’d sent a security guard to check the noise, but I have no idea if they did. It was loud until past 2am and then it started again before 6am. In the morning we went down to switch rooms and had to negotiate to get a room on a higher floor. They kept offering to move us from 1 to 2 then to 3 etc. when they 24+ floors. We finally got somewhere around 19th floor before giving up and taking 2 rooms by the elevator, but at least it was facing a different street and not near public spaces. It didn’t help with the street noise, but it did with the building noise. One of the rooms we were in had a broken mirror, the other had a bathtub that filled with water, and one of the beds was uncomfortable. Thankfully the bathtub was fixed. The tv was at a very weird angle to the bed, but thankfully we didn’t come to Chicago to spend time in the room. During Covid they don’t clean the rooms during your stay, only after you check out. You have to request to have your room cleaned, but we were never informed. We called to find out why our room wasn’t cleaned as the trash was overflowing and we had run out of toiletries, toilet paper, and clean towels. They said the housekeeping staff went home at 5 and they would add us to the list for the next day. They did not. In the morning when we saw the housekeeper we asked if we were on the list and she said she didn’t know, to ask the front to desk. We told her we did. She said she didn’t know. Of course, our room wasn’t cleaned. We were there for 5 days and not once did they manage to get to our room. At least the room service brough up supplies when we called for them at night. The front desk team is rude and clueless. They forgot to tell us that we need a key to use the elevator and to get into the front door at night. Things we easily figured out, but would have been nice if they mentioned. We asked several different people on a few separate occasions about various events happening in town and they told us over and over to Google it. We asked if Taste of Chicago was happening downtown or just at the popup satellite locations and they said they thought it was all over including downtown and found us the directions, so we walked 26 blocks, over 30 minutes only to find out it wasn’t happening. I wish they would have known more about their city. They couldn’t tell us if Second City was having shows. So many basic tourist information knowledge was lacking. Even for directions and locations they told us to look it up. If we had the information then we wouldn’t be asking them. Not only did they not know, but they were rude about. They were dismissive. The ladies would cut me off in the middle of my question as if I can help that I have a stutter. Parking is ridiculous $60 a night for guests. Rip-off. I wouldn’t recommend this hotel with so many other options downtown. The only good part was the location. It was about 12 minutes to walk to the red line and from there it was an easy transfer to blue. There was a bus stop kitty-corner from the front door. It was across the street for a large shopping avenue, 5 minutes’ walk to a Whole Foods and 10 to a Jewel. It was 30 minutes east to Navy Pier, 30 minutes south to Grant Park, and 30 minutes north to the beach. Starbuck in the lobby was nice and it was also nice they had a little convenience store. It would have been nicer if the had free water, coffee, and tea in the lobby.

Good Location but Noisy. We just completed our 3 night stay for 4th of July 2021 holiday weekend. We had a corner room facing the lake on the 20th floor. Positives: - Convenient location 1 block from the Magnificent Mile - Updated rooms - Elevators were fast compared to the number of floors and rooms. I never had to wait for longer than 1 minute. Cons: - Although it’s a convenient location, it’s also it’s detriment. We could hardly sleep because of the ambulance, fire trucks and loud cars on the Mile. It’s next to the hospital so ambulance and fire truck noise was busy even at night. We’re city folks and use to fire trucks and ambulances but it was a bit much even for us. - Service was ok. I’m Titanium and no acknowledgement of status. No room upgrades despite room availability for length of stay on the app/website. - Limited service compared to Aloft right down the street., which is another Marriott property. No breakfast and restaurant closes early. - Dated lobby - Not as helpful or friendly as Aloft who goes above and beyond for service. This was just mediocre. Overall, while convenient, I wouldn’t go back to stay here again. It’s too close to the hospital and MM so the noise made sleeping difficult. I would go one or two blocks closer to the lake to avoid the noise. It makes a big difference. Also, service was just mediocre so it wasn’t anything special.

Great location - good value We stayed for two nights in June 2021 and really liked the location. Right off the magnificent mile shops, but away from the hustle and bustle. Had a room on the 11th floor and definitely heard when fire trucks went through. Room was somewhat recently updated and pretty well designed. Pro tip if you're parking. Use the iParkit app to reserve a space in the adjacent parking garage. There was a 20% discount for new users, so parking for two nights was $72 (with in and out privileges) instead of the $118 the hotel would charge for the same garage.

Unappealing experience We felt underwhelmed in our visit to Chicago during MDW. The hotel charges full prices but offers half services: while vaccinated customers were allowed to go unmasked, housekeeping was not provided unless explicitly requested at the guise of "safety" (and you have to say what exactly you want taken care of). Even a simple request to provide lotion was declined unless we went down to the lobby. We could hear the toilet flushing from a room next door anytime of the day and night. An early check in was offered for $20 even for a "Gold Elite" member while we had to haggle for the 2pm late checkout which is officially listed as a benefit. The stay felt cheap even though it cost regular fare. We were not impressed and will not be back.
