Great Stay Wonderfull Hotel, ideal for a solo experience, the room offers everything you need. The mini bar offers a wide variety of treats. The view from my room was lovely and I enjoyed my stay very much. Thanks to all the team, they were very welcoming and professional, I would come back anytime.

Tiny beds, no refrigerator, no ice maker. Crazy parking fees. The title says it all. We had a double bedroom. The headboard stuck out so far onto the mattress which was already small both in length and width that my feet hung off the bed and I'm only 5'9. There also was no ice maker in the entire hotel. You had to call down to the front desk to get ice. No fridge in the room either. That space was occupied by a useless mini bar filled with overpriced crap that no one would ever even think about buying unless they were desperate.

Not Family-Friendly - Safety Concerns and Limited Space I recently stayed at Thompson Chicago with my family, and unfortunately, our experience was far from ideal. While the hotel has some good points, it falls short in key areas, especially for families with young children. The most alarming incident was when my son cut the back of his head on the shower door handle. This was a serious safety concern that could have been much worse. I urge the management to address this issue immediately to prevent future accidents. We booked a junior suite, expecting a comfortable and spacious area for our family. However, the layout was very open and not suitable for kids. The lack of separation between the sleeping and living areas made it difficult to manage our space, and the open design posed several hazards for our active child. While the hotel does have some positives—such as its location and decor—it is clear that it is not designed with families in mind. If you are traveling with children, I would recommend looking elsewhere for accommodations that are safer and more accommodating to family needs. Thompson Chicago might be a decent choice for solo travelers or couples, but I cannot recommend it for families with young children due to safety concerns and limited space in the suites.

Great Location - This was our first time to visit Chicago and was not sure exactly what areas were going to be safe since the uptick in violent crime. The location of the hotel was very central to great restaurants, and great shopping. There was a large presence of off duty police officers at numerous high-end retailers. The rooms in the hotel were clean and bright. I would prefer the use of a mini refrigerator versus the mini-bar. We would definetly stay here again in the future.
