Worst Holiday Inn Pool Ever This may have been the worst Holiday Inn I have ever stayed at. I am a Platinum Elite member and have stayed at nearly 100 properties. The pool area was essentially unusable. Doors were propped open to the outside which was letting critters like Texas fire ants in search of water into the pool area. It also let the Texas heat in and it was nearly 100 degrees in the what was supposed to be climate controlled pool room, the entire purpose for my stay was to provide the kiddos a place to swim that wouldnt require a gallon of sunscreen and allow my neurodiverse child to swim without problems from brightness outside. The pool was freezing, my littlest lips turned purple within minutes. There was silt or dirt or chipped parts of the concrete along the bottom of the pool, a sharp and potential hazard to bare feet. The lighting was inadequate, super dark and dingy. Mechanical closets were left unlocked allowing curious kids to open doors that should have been locked, cobwebs and grime, broken tiles etc. Upper floors smelled damp, like a poor air conditioner, bad carpet cleaning or worse, mold and a leak. I would never return to this location.

Cory Cory is wonderful, had a few issues and he was wonderful in getting them resolved. We had the king room with a jetted tub. The bathroom toilet and shower wear very slow in draining, Cory sent the maintenance up and it was wonderful. The jetted tub, had a few spider webs right above but I got an extra towel and solved it. The mini fridge really needs to be defrosted, this room may not be reserved very much, you might just block it for a night and get it cleaned up and defrosted. The blinds are ok, does not block light when you want to sleep late in the morning. We paid for free breakfast, it was ok, eggs, breakfast potatoes, bacon and toast, hot and very nice wait staff at the breakfast area. Overall we will be back on business but maybe try another room. Thank you Cory for your gracious help

Poor Management First off let start out by saying that IHG has been great with all the other locations up till this one. A reservation needed to be canceled do to severe weather(tornado warnings) and the flights were canceled going into the area. The general manager Latricka Spencer absolutely refused to credit the hotel charge and refused to even discuss it with me, her management skills are extremely poor, even the corporate offices had a hard time dealing with her. Thankfully corporate office was able to help me and agreed that this was a valid reason to credit the charge and advised that they have all supporting documents and they will assist me to receive the credit for the charge. I would highly recommend not staying at this location at least until they can resolve management issues.

Bad experience made worse due to cost Myself and family stayed here for Texas A&M graduation. Accordingly, the price was jacked up, which makes the poor experience much worse. -Carpeted stairwell disgusting. Trash, stains etc. I just remember thinking, shouldn't a manager walk through here and think, "Maybe we should clean these nasty stairs." -Table between beds had previous occupants dried up contact lenses on them. If you were wondering if the cleaning staff wipes down surfaces between occupants, here is your answer. We couldn't help but wonder what other surfaces they didn't wipe down. -I call down and ask for towels and wash cloths. We were told that we needed to come down and get them. We stay in hotels a few times a year and this is the first time that I have heard this. Two other hotels that we stayed at on this trip offered this service, and we paid less than half what we paid to stay here. I guess they could claim they were busy, but there were at least two people manning the desk, with the books they were reading on the counter... - I go down to get the towels and wash cloths. I explain the dried up contact lenses on the table and ask for a sanitizing wipe so I can clean it off. The guy brings out a towels, stack of wash cloths and a bottle of sanitizing spray. He proceeds to soak one of the wash cloths with sanitizing spray and gives me the rest for my family's use. I guess I always knew that hotel staff cleaned the rooms with the same towels and wash cloths that guests use, but it was just disgusting to have that confirmed. Given the lack of quality control here, its quite possible that some towels or wash cloths may not be cleaned and well, ugggg. Speaking of towels and wash cloths, they need to invest in new ones. Extremely coarse and scratchy. My overall impression is that there is simply little to no quality control here. They did have decent breakfast, exterior grounds well-kept (much better than the room), and beds were comfortable, so its a 2 out 5 for us. If the room wasn't so expensive, it may have been a 3 out of 5, but customers expect a clean room with decent service when paying almost 500 dollars for double queen room.
