ADA Certified Service Dog Issue- Avoid this hotel My father stayed at the Sleep Inn Concord-Kannapolis on 04/03/2024 to 04/05/2024 and I strongly recommend that everyone avoid staying here. He was traveling with a service dog that is ADA certified however, he had several issues with staff members involving his service dog. He was told by the front desk at one point in his stay that because he was not staying in a pet-friendly room and since there was no pet friendly rooms available that he would have to find another hotel to stay at the second night. When this occurred I contacted corporate to see if we could rectify this situation given that his service dog is not a pet and medically needed due to a traumatic brain injury that he endured in the line of duty. The agent I spoke to over the phone from corporate was very helpful and informed me the front desk staff said that my father’s service dog was an emotional support animal however, this was not correct. I understand mistakes happen however when my father went to the lobby to show the front desk attendant verification that his service dog was ADA certified, she looked at his card and stated “Anyone can buy one of these.” When he informed her that he did not buy this documentation and that he was disabled in the line of duty and that is why he needed his service dog and if she was questioning the validity of his documentation that she could call the number on the back of the card, she stated “I am not calling that number”. Not only was this situation embarrassing for my father but, it was also completely unnecessary. I am disgusted by how he was treated by the staff and it truely concerns me how the staff would treat other customers with disabilities in the future.

$100 deposit? Really?! The carpet throughout the hallway and our room was dirty and stained. Additionally, carpet was sticky in our room. Walked into our room to strong musty smell. Mini fridge running off and on all night. Spot light over each bed. No lamp between beds. Booked on hotel website and was charged $100 deposit for incidentals. Will find different hotel for next stay.

Nice Stay in Concord, NC For the price, this is a very nice 2-star hotel. Has lots of transient workers from nearby construction sites but it was very quiet. Quick access to nearyby restaurants, WalMart and on the Highway. Perfect. Breakfast was as expected for a 2 star Hotel but the breakfast staff was very attentive and friendly. The Checkin and Checkout proccess was fast, friendly and professional. When checking in, the gentleman was extremely helpful, a true asses to the Hotel Management team. Avoid at all costs Avoid at all costs. The hotel was dirty, smelly and my entire family agreed that we wanted to get out as soon as possible. We arrived very late and we were hit with a surprise $100 security deposit to make sure we didn’t damage the room. Supposedly this is a non-smoking hotel but it reeked of smoke. When I had to take the dog out in the middle of the night it smelled strongly of marijuana. The staff (Tonya) was horribly stressed and rude. I had the feeling that something really bad happened there and I was being treated like a criminal, not a guest. Something is seriously wrong there and it seems like they are doing their best to rein it in, but they’re not able to. My kids despise camping and they said we would have been better off in a tent.
