Ok for the price Stayed a few nights more of a 2.5 star but I went 3 due to price and staff. Bottom line if you just need a cheap place to rest your head for one night and can sleep through the noise of the truck stop traffic next door this should work. Overall ok for the price but for a little more $$ probably should have chose the newer Holiday Inn in town. Staff was nice, lobby somewhat updated but the furniture is worn and needs some love/cleaning/replaced. Room was outdated and dingy plus could have been cleaned more thoroughly. TV is from 2006 and as cheap as TVs are there is no reason that thing is still there. Towels are thin - probably time to replace. Bathroom was somewhat updated compared to the room. If you’re staying on the side of the hotel that the truck stop is on your window is likely to provide some free entertainment … but don’t expect it or the walls to keep the noise of the truck traffic out at 2 or 3 in the morning. I take some of the responsibility - I saw it on the map and should have known better but didn’t expect it to be that bad. I am hopeful this hotel is due for a remodel because compared to most Holiday Inn Express and Suites we stay at anymore this one needs a little love and attention beyond what local staff can really do for it. They were nice, friendly, accommodating - it’s just time for higher up to decide to invest in the property or let it keep becoming a lower end property.

Avoid avoid avoid Nasty inside the rooms and outside. Dimly lit parking lot - felt unsafe. Parking lot driveway was torn up, had gravel, and was difficult ti get to. Inattentive staff. I asked for my money back and I’m not that type of person - it was that gross. I never got my money back, a call back, or an email.

Won't ever stay at another holiday inn express Entrance to hotel filled with cigarette butts. Front desk was pleasant. Needed a quiet room...forget that...between the traffic and elevator up and down all night, very noisy. Room was so dirty, housekeeping needs to step it up. Crumbs in the bed. A/C never kicked on all night. Drain in bathroom sink very slow and brown stuff coming up out of it. Hope you are tall enough to adjust shower...otherwise don't bother. Need lighting in bathroom and fan. Then fire alarm went off...stood outside for over an hour, I'm glad the firemen were thorough. Breakfast lady miserable...spoke to her and smiled 3 times...she never responded. Biscuits and cinnamon rolls stale. Coffee very weak. If my husband wasn't at the hospital overnight in Cookeville I would have not stayed there. Slept maybe 2 hours......not a pleasant or comfortable stay. Hope I didn't bring anything home with me.

Dead bug in the sheets I took a picture and emailed it to the manager. I'm a frequent business traveler, and at the least I expect a clean room. On my current business trip I found a dead bug in the sheets, and by the time I arrived in town (evening) I received the standard answers for why I couldn't be helped further: It was too late at night/no houskeeping staff so I had to change my own sheets, there was no manager on-call, the hotel was booked so I couldn't get another room, etc.

Extremely disappointing Staff was nice, we were able to sleep, and breakfast was good, but that's where the positives end. Our room was very humid and damp (even with AC blasting). Our kids found a still-wet, used dip pouch in the middle of the floor right between the two beds. There was water damage on the bedroom walls. The bathroom had NO ventilation, and the wallpaper was peeling. There was only half a roll of toilet paper with no extra. The shower head riser clamp was broken and stuck at belly height. There was severe water damage with heavy black mold in the hallway ice room, and there was more water damage on the lobby floor near the business center. My wife's allergies reacted to the mold and mustiness. I let the front desk know about our room. The dining area bench was badly stained. They were apologetic, but only offered "some points" (1,000). Which is insulting for this kind of experience. Holiday Inn Express is sliding way downhill.
