Hilton Garden Inn Corpus Christi

Would not recommend I arrived at this hotel and immediately encountered refurbishing work in progress. The front desk area was chaotic, with workers on the floor directly in front of thr Front Desk and it was unclear where guests should go. A woman behind the counter ignored me, leaving me confused until one of the workers directed me to the side of the counter. Surprisingly, the same woman who had been ignoring me then greeted me. I thought it was odd that she hadn't beckoned me over. The room itself was disappointing. As soon as I opened the door, I was hit by a strong moldy smell. The ceiling had large brown blotches, some of which were partially painted over. The AC unit worked but had a large rust patch on it. There was a hole in the ceiling and white unidentified splash marks on the bed frame. The bedside table was broken, and the pillows, though in clean cases, lacked protectors and were stained yellow. Due to the ongoing refurbishments I assumed the room was mistakenly given to me thinking it was completed, so i took some pictures and went back to the reception. The receptionist, "Jenny or Janine," was not interested in seeing the photos and informed me she would only move me once. Her attitude suggested that providing an acceptable room was somehow my responsibility. And she would not be inconvenienced by it. This was a work trip, so I decided to check out her "take it or leave it" offer and deal with it later. The next room was slightly better, though the pillows still lacked protectors. A quick trip to Walmart solved that issue. The receptionist could definetly benefit from additional training. I would not recommend staying here, at least not during their renovation period.

Do NOT stay here!!!! Outdated hotel & had roaches! Don’t recommend at all! For the price find a hotel that doesn’t have roaches!!! The hotel lobby is big yet not the prettiest and the whole hotel looks very outdated. When I called the front desk I was offered to move rooms or a complimentary breakfast, I refused and asked for a refund.

11 Years of Superb Service Have been staying at this property for 11 years--is my "Go To" for my monthly business trips to Corpus Christi. The Staff, Lounge-Restaurant, House Cleaning and Front Desk Team are outstanding. Is my absolute favorite for any trip to Corpus Christi.

Dated hotel Definitely not up to the Hilton name The furniture was dated. The room was so musty smelling I was glad I was only staying one night. Staff was friendly but I definitely won’t stay there again. I don’t feel like I stayed at a Hilton property

Insects in the room We used the room to sleep in only and ended up bringing insects home with us. We noticed them on the desk and in the bed on the morning when we were leaving ( had not spent much time in the room). We we were leaving, I mentioned it to the front desk lady and she smiled. We were told when we checked in that they don’t clean daily because of staffing issues, but we can ask for extra towels. That should have been a red flag, but I had.a non refundable paid room.I had to call and file a complaint. We have to wait 3-5 business days to hear anything back. They gave me 10000 Hilton points, but I am not sure that I will be staying in any of their hotels anytime soon after this incident. We have been washing everything repeatedly and have called an exterminator. They look like tiny ants. They were even in the keyboard of my I Pad. So gross! The room is definitely smaller and more outdated than it looks online, but I can handle that. I cannot forgive the bug issue! I definitely would not recommend the Hilton Garden Inn Corpus Christi for your stay. Too many other options in the area that are probably cleaner and big free!
