They are trying hard but I won't stay again We spent 3 nights here visiting family. As soon as we got into our room, I knew it was going to be a long stay. The room needs a lot of love -- it is out-dated and small and had a musty smell. The bathroom was very tiny - there was just barely enough room for the door to close without hitting the toilet. Our room was not stocked so I had to ask for extra towels and toilet paper. The full-length mirror was dirty from teeth flossing. Ick. The staff was very friendly and helpful and did what they could with what they are working with, but unless there is a major renovation, I won't stay here again next time I'm in Corpus.

Avoid at all costs! The only thing that's worth it is the location because of the easy access to SPI and the restaurants/shopping nearby. Everything else, including management needs a complete overhaul. The manager is extremely rude and condescending to guests when voicing concerns. The staff members while they pretend to be nice to your face are so pretentious. In fact this hotel charged us for additional fees which weren't disclosed up front then cited incorrect federal guidelines when trying to save face. We stay at IHG hotels all over the world and this has been the worst experience ever.

No hot showers I just want to say that if you enjoy a hot shower after a long day at the beach or work ….do NOT stay at this hotel. I have stayed here twice and they only provide lukewarm water. Last night there was no warm water at all so I got to take an iced cold shower…..lesson learned. I come to Corpus for the beach, a lot, and will never stay here again.

Receptionist advocating a third party cause - warm breakfast not available by 8.15am One of the worst hotels I have ever stayed in with probably one of the rudest receptionist I have ever encountered who prefers to advocate the 'cause' of a third party. We booked this hotel as IHG members to stay for several nights, arriving after a few hours' drive, sick and tired, during this trip of 3000 miles drive throughout USA. A receptionist called Dora checked us in and being friendly I detailed to her that we cannot stay in room 424 due to overlooking the busy road at the back of the hotel with traffic at any time and the noisy apartment complex on the side (2 loud women were passing as I looked outside) as I sleep very light and we are 2 very quiet people too. I could not believe when Dora chose to spend more time in advocating the cause of these people rather than understand my point by saying 'people like having barbecues in the evening' or 'you cannot stop people who want to party'. The third day, we were in the breakfast area at 8.15am when we noticed that again there was no food but some stale muffins, bread, jams etc but no warm food so spoke with Dora only to be told 'we have working people in our hotel who wake up at 6.30am!!!' Does she mean we have to wake up so early purely to shove elbows with big men who eat faster? 'Our cook left by now going to the sister hotel' she further said, meaning that due to the 'new management' (as she added) the cook only comes once in the morning, puts the warm breakfast out there for the 'early people' to fill mountains on their plates and whoever comes later has nothing to eat because the cook is gone. I have never come across this philosophy anywhere around the planet and when explaining this to Dora she only advocated the story of the third party as if we were not paying hotel members. She turned very sarcastic, laughing at me as if I was a little girl with no decades of education and said 'take it with the management' as if not caring. I mentioned to her that she should go for further training and maybe she will care if she will lose her job once the hotel would undertake complete re-modelling due to the state it is in - she started laughing at me as I left the reception area as I wanted to be in NO competition who speaks louder and faster: - very dirty carpets in the room (my feet became dirty and dirtied the white sleepers I bring with me to the point I had to throw them away) - very noisy fridge (we stayed after in a Staybridge in Oklahoma built on the same principle and all the electrics were so much quieter), also loud air con unit from above the suite coming on and off at night - our room air con unit was switched off at night due to the noise - huge cracks in the ceiling in the room we chose 408 - no toiletries filled in the bathroom - we had to go to the reception with all the bottles as they fill them there with something that is reminiscent, or not, of Dove smell - the sofa was so itchy from years of usage that I put a blanket to sit on - very smelly hallways (as soon as we stepped from the elevators every single day!!!) with a mix of cigarette smoke due to somebody smoking in their room (no sprinkler or cigarette detectors in the bathroom - lucky smokers, destroying other people's health via passing smoking giving cancer) and the 'working men' in their overalls staying in the hotel and smelling of constructions etc. Lucky us, the travellers trying to enjoy our holiday, right? - everything is mismatched in the room from the door/door trim to funny bathtub and furnishings - warm breakfast non existent as described above and lots of large working men in their overalls, who stay in the hotel and take the whole space at breakfast. There is nothing wrong with big men wanting to eat, the hotel should promote this though, so us, sensible travellers can stay away from such a place though - and potentially eat a stale muffin and a banana away from construction smells, or have the chance of a warm breakfast To add insult to injury, as we checked in and was speaking with Dora, a large cleaner with big glasses and coming across as the opposite of intelligent decided to make fun of me as I was speaking with the receptionist while having a cigarette in front of the hotel - maybe if she was to clean the rooms properly and refill the bottles the hotel would not receive such low marks consistently. It looks like us, travellers, are not that important - is the message.

Spacious and friendly but a bit shabby The suites are spacious and the staff are very friendly but the overall feel is a bit dowdy. The sofa in my room was saggy and the furniture is a bit scuffed. Location is OK - quiet but close to lots of highways and restaurants. Not terrible but not excellent either.
