Best Motel Great motel, comfy, convenient, beautiful gardens. Pool and spa. Great location. The staff is unbeatable in every way. The patio overlooking the gardens were great. Love they way they have mailboxes thru out the garden that gives you info about that particular garden place. Lovely walks. We didn't have a dog. But it is dog friendly and they even put their names on a board at the front desk. I loved it.

Beautiful wedding site The wedding site was perfect and the option of going indoors or outdoors was much needed at the wedding we just attended. I have to admit, I didn't know anything about them closing down when we stayed. Our room was clean and the staff was friendly. We had a nice patio looking out over the pool area. I thought the rooms were very dated and it was like stepping back in time but the venue and access to everything made it worth it. I also loved that it is one of the few dog friendly hotels in the area even though we didn't bring our companion along it was nice to know there was an option.

Great value The addition of the dinner package to our room was a fantastic value. Good food and a nice bottle of wine for only $40! Service was great. It's sad to know the place is closing down. So happy we got the chance to come before the last day.

A blast back to the 1950's that is about to disappear Everything here screams 1950's. The grounds are very nice, I see why they have weddings every weekend. Our room, one of the "upgraded" king suites with garden patio was OK but was old and just functional. Some lights didn't work. Outlets were sometimes so old that plugs would just fall out without some help. The RV park was right across from our door and was questionable to say the least. Staff was friendly. Breakfast was minimal but what was there was good. Evidently this was a "go to" location years ago with tennis courts, 9 hole golf (now a lovely large garden) , pool and spa (still there) plus a good restaurant (also still there and still good) from a past time when some of those were desired options. The current owner, Moonstone Properties, has never made a profit here (after dumping around 6 million in the property) and has sold the property. The cost of upgrading is way high for any profit potential and I'm pretty sure the owner can't get financing. It will cease operation at the end of September 2021. Nobody there knew what the new owners have in mind but in the past a truck stop was contemplated (it's right off interstate 5). If this was a wedding venue down in So Cal (not counting the hotel part) it would be a gold mine. I'd like to able to buy some of the furnishings if they go on sale. Those high quality teak outdoor lounges and chairs aren't easy to find anymore (are $$$ if you do find them) and some of the lamps are cool.
