Sad that this property has fallen so far. We had hopes that new owners were trying to upgrade the property but no. Friendly staff and reasonably comfortable room can't overcome how run down this hotel has become. Our second stay at this location will be our last. This time the TV didn't work, Wifi is none existent, no ice machine and all of the grass areas to walk the dog are dirt and full of stickers. We will pay the $9 more to stay elsewhere. Very sorry.

Older hotel, always treats us well We are an older couple. We stop at this very inexpensive hotel 3 or 4 times a year. It is a comfortable day's drive between Dallas Texas and Los Angeles California. We've gone from there to White Sands NP or Carlsbad Caverns as well. The hotel is older and some rooms could use some sprucing up,but our room this trip was on the second floor of the main building. It was pristine clean. We requested a "less used room" due to pandemic concerns. The young man at the desk -who is unfailingly polite to us and remembers us by name- took our request in stride and gave us a large room with a king bed. We are older, and he was kind in making sure we could manage the stairs. I wanted to give them a shout out. It is an older building. The groundscwete more in need of care than typical and I noticed the pool was empty. Those are likely due to reduced staff. The recent change to the Oyo chain brought new bedding and nice towels. I would recommend you bring your own toiletries if you use more than the small packets available at most budget hotels. I always do. But what shines is the customer service. We have never made a request-a room change, additional towels, etc.- that wasn't accommodated quickly and cheerfully. I was glad to see that the new owners kept the staff unchanged.

I Don't Know How They Have a Four Star Rating I booked this room for our trip to Deming, NM. We had planned to stay at Rockhound State Park, but the pandemic changed our plans. The Pros: Letting out of state travelers make reservations during a pandemic. They let us check in early and upgraded our room to a king instead of a queen. We didn't ask, the front desk just did it. Friendly staff. All my questions about the hotel, the area, and where to eat, were answered in a helpful and friendly manner. Good sized room for two people to stay in for six days. Maid service daily with fresh towels. Plenty of hot water. Good water pressure. The Cons: Run down and in need of serious updating. Not as clean as I hoped. Ice machine on our wing was broken. Swimming pool out of order and full of murky green icky water. Not clean. (I found long black hairs in the sheets.) A/C didn't work efficiently. Cable was iffy. Sometimes it worked. Sometimes it didn't. The customer service was very good. We had to leave a day early due to a family medical emergency. Not only did they refund the deposit, they refunded an entire day. That NEVER happens. In the end, you get what you pay for and this was an inexpensive place to stay. I wanted a clean, safe, place to sleep. I got kinda clean and kinda safe. I would never have stayed here alone. If you do choose to stay here the friendly staff are a plus.

WARNING! WARNING!! WARNING!!! What a disgrace! Halls were too dark to see where to insert the keycard, room was musty and odorous, opened the window and the screen promptly fell out, bathroom had no ventilation and amazingly stained ceiling, air condition worked, though just barely, when I put my hand in front to feel if the air was cool, I was suddenly face to face with more dust in the ductwork than I was aware existed, turned down the sheets to check for bugs, top sheet had a rather large hole in it and was delightfully stained, the bed was worn out, collapsed on the sides with the springs easily felt, even the home made mattress pad (cut from a sheet of like material) would not belay the springs digging in, the pillow (under the pillow case) was covered in yellow stains, and there was but 1 single light in this cavern adventure. When I asked for a new sheet, I was told, "Management will refund your money. You will not like any of our other rooms." Seriously, they tossed me out for sighting dirty rooms, sheets I could see through and towels that were equally as thin. I've no idea who wrote positive reviews for this place, I assure you they are not accurate, proved by the fact that I was not offered a proper room. I will meet anyone anytime at this hotel to validate this review. AND, my room was NOT $40-50, it was $100 a night. Went down the street at Day's Inn and was more than pleased with the room and the service.

Decent place to stay Stopped here on my way back from AZ, took a chance on the exceptionally cheap rate (under $40) for the night. Was pleasantly surprised. They are doing some remodeling, but overall the place was clean. Room was good, King bed was comfy, quiet night. Did not eat at the restaurant, so no review there. There was also a $50 deposit? but that was refunded the next day. I think this is at least worth checking out if you are passing through and need a good place to rest.
