Very enjoyable family vacation! We just returned home from a 5 night family vacation at Sundestin and we were very happy with everything! We stayed in Unit 1002, which was very nice, updated and clean. The balcony was perfection, as was the view! We enjoyed the location without question and the staff was wonderful throughout our entire stay. We will definitely return! I highly recommend a visit to Pete the bartender at the Tiki Bar on the premises (get the gator bomb) - he was cool and awesome to talk to!

Outdated and dirty Room 203 felt dirty upon arrival everything seemed sandy. Extremely outdated decor and furniture. Not stocked with enough necessities. Not even coffee. I would not recommend staying here..a huge waste!

Anniversary trip Booked a last minute trip here, the room was clean and well stocked. Unfortunately the bed, sofa and chairs were very uncomfortable and worn out so we really didn’t have a place to sit and relax comfortably. I actually went and sat in our vehicle for a short time to sit somewhere comfortable.

Overall a nice stay in Unit 1009 You really can't beat the spot on the beach and the view. Just fantastic. The beach in this area is quite crowded during the day. Make sure you book your umbrella spot in advance for better locations. I put the condition of the condo itself as a four. Though some areas have been renovated (such as the kitchen), the bathroom really needs some love. Just a new showerhead and a decent shower curtain that closes all the way would make a tremendous difference. Though plantation shutters are great in the bedroom, they let in a lot of light from the external hallway and some sort of curtain would help with bedroom light and noise due to the proximity of the elevator to this unit. I will say "you're welcome" for fixing the main television. It had been recently replaced and the new one (LG) was left in 'store demo' mode. That would be an easy fix if you had the original LG remote, but without it...it became a chore to fix. After a few days of fooling with it, the TV is now out of demo mode for future guests.

Sundestin Vacasa Issues May 2021 Sundestin Vacasa Issues May 2021 We unfortunately stayed in Sundestin unit 507 for a week in May 2021. If The rental agent Vacasa has any standards for the properties they rent out, then clearly NONE of those standards were followed for unit 507. Background: We are big fans of Sundestin Resort. Unlike 507, we had stayed in very nice units annually for many many years when the high rise was managed by Wyndham who sold to Vacasa in late 2019. According to Sundestin front desk, Vacasa was fired by HOA as Sundestin’s management company and they hired Scenic Stays instead. We had booked a nice condo for May 2020 in early 2019 that that we stayed in before, for which we had to move the reservation to May 2021 due to COVID. In January 2021 (4 months prior to our stay) Vacasa told us the owner was no longer renting their unit so we had to pick another one. Vacasa also said they were the new management/rental company who took over from Wyndham. (They did not tell us that Sundestin HOA, per Sundestin front desk, had fired them as management company and hired Scenic Stays, meaning Vacasa is not on premises for when issues arise.) We picked another unit we knew was nice and a few months later Vacasa told us the owner was no longer renting their unit and we had to pick yet another one. There were a few left to pick from with our required ocean view which is how we ended up in this dump 507. It turns out Vacasa lied to us about the two nice units we had previously booked because the owners WERE still renting their nice units and had actually decided not to use Vacasa and moved to Scenic Stays as the rental company. Prior to our stay, Vacasa charged our credit card twice for balance due and reversed duplicate charge after I discovered days later and called. Check-in: Day of check-in what a nightmare. We had a total of 16 phone calls that evening to Vacasa and Sundestin front desk and many text messages to try to get issues resolved. We were late for our dinner reservation and had no time to unpack until next day because of all the issues, described below: *Entire place was in extremely poor shape and incredibly run down—dirty, smelled terrible ALL week (like urine), furniture dirty and extremely old, falling apart, and uncomfortable, floors sticky. The walls were filthy and the numerous layers of paint on walls very sloppy. *Toilet leaking significantly at base, which flooded the bathroom floor and rugs. (I later saw a customer review from Oct 2020 or SEVEN months ago stating same issue.) Repair man spent about 1 1/2 hours removing toilet and fixing the installation parts underneath; he stated the toilet installation was incorrectly done and had a lot of difficulty coming up with parts to at least fix it for the week we were there. He caulked the base of the toilet and said that had never been done before. *TV extremely old and volume barely works and cable box broken thus no TV. Repair man had to install another cable box and work with cable company to get the old TV to work. Volume never did work. *No WiFi for unit 507. Repair man said it was never installed in that unit so we had to log into a neighboring unit’s WiFi. The introductory email I received from Vacasa specifically stated that there was Wi-Fi for unit 507 and we were to use that particular network. *Not nearly enough towels in the unit, particularly considering there is no daily housecleaning or towel service. The front desk said they would not deliver towels to us because the property was managed by Scenic Stays, not Vacasa, and we would have to call Vacasa to deliver towels to us which they did late the first night. *All the furniture was horrible—dirty, wobbly, incredibly old, couldn’t open or close chest of drawers without significant effort. AND, the bed box spring was broken on one side because it was not even put into the bed frame properly so it caved in and cracked if you sat on that side of the bed. We did not call Vacasa about the bed because we were so tired of talking with them about so many problems, and we had to fix it ourselves that first night to safely sleep. *I was literally on my hands and knees cleaning the bathroom and hall floors after all the repairs because there was no one that could have cleaned until next day. Please note the main Vacasa relations person I dealt with took lots of notes and appeared concerned when I presented the issues. He said Vacasa would photograph and inspect the unit and work with owner to update. It should also be noted however, that Vacasa already has routine inspections according to personnel at Sundestin. Obviously these inspections were not taken seriously at least when it came to this unit. Upon our demand, we did receive a refund for the first night’s stay (and cleaning fee) but this was not nearly enough to make up for what we had to put up with the entire week.
