Wonderful stay. Great breakfast, pool and hot tub! We had a wonderful stay here. The rooms were clean. The breakfast was great. The lady who serves breakfast here is always so hospitable and kind. Our kids loved the pool and hot tub. Denise was amazing and very kind. She also helped us immediately and graciously when our toilet was clogged. We like to stay here because it is the closest Hilton to the Miami / Portland area. I would definitely recommend this hotel!

Too much second hand smoke and can’t get garbage bags There is an issue with cigarette smoking allowed all over the exterior of the property. This is noticeable as someone walking a dog. I am staying with a dog and kids (was informed this is a “pet friendly” property). Outside at 5 am walking the dog, greeted by smokers loitering around the front entrance (smoking receptacles placed right outside front doors). Signs all over the front of property stating that dogs are “not allowed on the grass,” ok, well that leaves the sidewalk and the parking lot. Now on the rear of the property, the grass is thin and landscaping poor, and no signs that dogs are not allowed on the “quasi” grass. So walk the dog back there, where there is a large patio area with grills, patio seating, lights up, music cranking, a sort of “party” area. Ash trays from a bygone era placed on every table, lots of smoking at all hours of the day. Walk the dog back there and blasted with smoke. I’m shocked that smokers have free reign of the exterior of an entire hotel property, and a Hilton brand…? Huh? Asked the front desk clerk and was told, “well, this is New Hampshire.” Really? Lived in NH for 15+ years myself, many of them a smoker, and never encountered this liberal of a smoking policy at any hotel. It’s a shame that a rogue hotel manager is allowed to diminish the Hilton brand. So if I walk the dog with my kids (which I didn’t do), my kids should inhale all of the “well, this is New Hampshire” second smoke? And I find it ridiculous that I am spending $300 a night for 3 nights and I can’t get fresh towels, garbage bags, or supplies for the kitchen (dishwasher detergent). I realize there is no housekeeping, but can I least get a couple of garbage bags???

Comfortable and enjoyable stay We stayed at the Homewood Suites in Dover for our daughter's orientation at UNH. It was perfect. We had a comfortable king size room with a sofa and kitchen. The manager was friendly and accommodating. The complimentary breakfast was wonderful. The furnishings and bath are slightly dated but clean. I would recommend scrubbing or replacing the shower doors but it was fine.

Not Up to Hilton Brand Standards We were very inconvenienced, appalled, and disappointed with our recent stay at Homewood Suites by Hilton Dover in Dover New Hampshire. There were several issues and the place was not up to the standards we expect as Hilton Honors members. We checked in on 4 June 2024 and checked out 6 June 2024. As I almost ALWAYS do, I logged into my account the day before our arrival and PAID IN ADVANCE so I could choose & reserve the room that we wanted. I selected a room on the 4th floor away from the elevators and on the side away from the noisy restaurant that is across from the front of the building. At that time, on June 3rd, our room on the 4th floor was locked in, and I PAID for our stay in THAT ROOM. Shortly before our arrival on June 4th, I checked the APP to find out if the room was ready for our arrival, and at that time discovered we were changed to an UNNACCEPTABLE room which did not meet our criteria. We immediately called the hotel and said we needed to be moved BACK to the room we paid for AND we wanted to speak to a manager when we arrived. When we arrived, an employee was blocking the front entrance with the hotel van, and he had a cord snaked from the lobby, creating a tripping hazard. He was cleaning the van and blocking access to the front door. During our stay, we also discovered an alcove by the front door was where cigarette smokers congregated, fouling the air for anyone passing in and out of the front door. On arrival in the lobby, we asked to speak to a manager and be assigned to our original room – the one I had paid for. Abby, the employee at the front desk DID apologize for the error and offered to show us a different room since our room had been assigned to someone else. On first examination, it appeared the third-floor room she showed us seemed our only option, since one of your employees, named ‘Carlton,’ OVERRODE our reservation and assigned someone else to our 4th floor room. We returned to the lobby to retrieve our luggage, and a general manager named Brendan came out to speak with us. He tried to give me a song and dance about how the computer updates every 20 minutes and the room was chosen by someone else and the computer gave it to them. I told him we received a confirmation on the APP for that specific room and it wasn’t until the next day, June 4th, that the override happened. He checked with Abby and she gave him the date and time and EMPLOYEE NAME (Carlton) related to that override. That manager suggested Abby find us a different room, ‘even if it was an upgrade.’ We already had paid for a king suite on the 4th floor in the back of the hotel, so frankly, I doubt if there was an upgrade. Abby could only find unacceptable rooms available. Not only did Brendan treat us in a condescending manner, he offered us a snack for our inconvenience; a bag of Cheetos just doesn’t cut it with us for mistreatment and discomfort in a hotel. Once we are unpacked and settled in to our room, we value our privacy and do not want to be disturbed. It wasn’t until later that we discovered the bathroom had a mildew smell, hair and dirt in the corners, and a sticky floor. We realized the kitchen area also had a sticky floor. We did not report the housekeeping deficiencies until our departure, because we did not want housekeeping staff in our room, for privacy reasons. On departure, I informed another general manager, Angela, of the problems with our stay. She was apologetic and said she would investigate the issues and follow up with me via email, which she did not. Overall, Homewood Suites by Hilton – Dover NH does not live up to the level of quality we expect from the Hilton brand. We hope the desk clerk, Carlton, is reprimanded, and that the general manager, Brendan, learns to interact with customers in a less condescending manner. I commend Abby, for her professional and calm manner.

Was considerate of my allergies We have stayed here the past two years for extended stays. This time we are here 6 weeks. Hilton has become dog friendly. This is nice for dog owners. It’s very bad for those of us who have severe allergies. Ms Dionne, the manager, had our room deep cleaned before we came. It was very helpful to me in our decision to stay here again.
