Great views We've been coming to Howth for a long time, but are very happy that we have recently discovered the bar at this place. Firstly, the scenic walk past Howth Castle is worth coming for on its own. The bar looks fairly generic and modern, but the food is good. I've had a lovely bacon-and-brie pannini and banoffee pie; my wife was a bit more disappointed with her vegetarian quiche, which was flavourless, and a slightly dry scone. The best things about it are the view out of the window, and the walk that starts from there. Make sure to see the rhododendrons, the ancient dolmen, and the rocky outcrops at the top of Howth Head.

rude front desk clerk i booked online 2- people and one small dog. Reservation pre-paid and Very rude front desk guy. explained that we had to pay additional $20 plus deposit. we informed him will pay deposits but already paid for pet. He then stated if your not paying your not staying here. Ripped up the reservation papers was very rude.

Very dissapointing There is so much more this hotel has to offer. Its situated in such lovely grounds. It's so big but its just wasting away because the management just arent bothered to do much with it. Howth has no hotels. This was the only one they had since the Baily closed down 10 years ago and they've closed this one down too. Very disappointing for Howth residents who cant recommend a good hotel for their friends/family who are coming to visit. Very disappointing. The only good thing is that the bar food is still going but only up until 4pm. I used to be a member of the gym but sadly cant go any more because they closed it down. Very annoyed

Friday Feast New Beginnings seems to be the order of the day in the Deer Park Restaurant. There have numerous over the years, to get the restaurant off the ground. With a new team in place and an imaginative and inexpensive menu, the future looks promising. The views from the patio area at the back are spectacular. Will be back on a regular basis.

Hike Went for a hike in the surrounding gardens and hills , beautiful scenery and very enjoyable hike amongst the trees and cliffs , but we had booked sandwiches and soup for afterwards , they weren't able to handle the order and was slow to bring out the order staff badly trained the manager owner looked like he'd burst with anger if we said anything , terrible service , sandwiches were really poor but soup was nice . Wouldn't recommend anyone to eat here , grounds for hiking is lovely but food is terrible
