Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites Dallas - Duncanville by IHG

Duncanville HIE Shines with Hospitality! We travel frequently and stay in many different hotels under a variety of flags, but never, ever have we been greeted by someone who was so genuinely and enthusiastically happy to see us, until we met Orrin at the front desk check-in. He brightened and energized our day after a long, tiring drive, greeting us in both English and French, and set the tone for a positive stay. He did everything right, too, by thanking us for being IHG members and using points for our stay, as well as thanking my husband for his military service and not announcing our room number to anyone within earshot (I cringe when people do that!). He is obviously an all-around fabulous professional with a kind heart and happy spirit. Kudos to whomever recognized this and hired him to represent the property! Our request for a quiet room away from the highway was honored. The room was very clean, and everything worked as it should. Breakfast was the standard we've come to expect from HIE and dining area was clean. Too cold for the pool, but it looked clean and inviting. India was at the desk upon checkout, and although we didn't interact with her as long as we did with Orrin, she, too, was a ray of sunshine and helped us to leave smiling.

What a disaster! I am not a fan of garbage dumping negative reviews, but this one that is deserved. Having a confirmed reservation, and having completed online early check-in, I thought all was well. Traveling from Boston to Dallas, I had no reason to expect what happened upon arrival at the fully-booked hotel. I was told that my credit card had an issue and that the assistant manager tried top call me, while I was 36,000 feet in the air. No record of the call, that's another story, but not reaching me the reservation was cancelled with no other rooms available. Fortunately, a business associate offered to share his room with me, otherwise, totally out of luck. To compound the lack of customer care and professionalism, I'm still waiting to hear from the assistant manager, whose number I was given and called leaving a request for him to call back. I will say that the staff I interacted with were pleasant, friendly and simply nice people. Unfortunately, their understanding of how to treat a customer/client has not filtered up to the AM who caused me to almost experience a full blown "no room at the inn" experience. Knowing that at the end of the day that it will matter very little, but having been treated in such an unprofessional manner, there is no way I would consider a return stay during a trip to the Dallas area in the future.

mother's day 2022 The staff was great professional and polite. The hotel needs some updates and repairs and proper cleaning. I had to move rooms the first night because of a knat issue with my room that evening I checked in the early afternoon. The desk staff forgot to mention that we need to request cleaning in our room. so next day after being gone all day I came back to trash dirty towels and unmade beds. This should never be an option in a pandemic not to clean rooms in my opinion, period! Or to have to request trash be removed daily and to get fresh towels to wash with. Then we were very disappointed that their whirlpool was out of order. as I choose the hotel because of the whirlpool, after a long flight and a long day it would have done wonders for me.

Barbara was a Blessing! Took my mom for her 81st birthday to see Bishop Jakes. Stayed at this hotel and was so pleased! Barbara at the desk was so nice and helpful! Rooms were clean and beds were comfortable! Great breakfast. Only complaint would be the pool was empty. Other than that it was an awesome stay and we would definitely stay here again.

Great clean place to stay! Weekend getaway with some friends and the indoor jacuzzi was the best! Staff was amazing and knowledgeable of the area! Breakfast the next morning tasted so good and just what I needed! Best stay definitely a 10 out of 10.
