Did not feel safe! I have stayed in many Hampton Inns for my last 8 years of business travel and this one is in the top 2 for the worst I've been in. The hallway floors were stained everywhere and made the entire hotel feel filthy. The room seemed better, however the access door to the shower slid the wrong way and made access difficult as you had to squeeze between the toilet and the shower to enter the shower. The breakfast was horrible - the gravy was lumps with water on top like it had not been mixed, scrambled eggs just had scraps left. My biggest complaint is the fact that the hotel sits adjacent to the interstate with a shady shopping mall in front of it, yet the door on the back of the hotel had open access and would not lock. It should be locked at ALL times of the day. I will not stay here for future business trips.

Second of Three in West Tennessee This was the second Hampton we stayed in during a recent trip to West Tennessee, and it was by far the worst. We initially considered to extend our stay at this hotel by an extra night, but after check-in, it was very obvious we were no longer going forward with that plan. We knew going into it that this was an older Hampton and likely wouldn’t be as nice as some of the others we have stayed in. That said, we weren’t expecting such a lack of quality or concern, especially since the reviews for this hotel are sparse but pretty good. Since we’re Honor members, prior to check-in we chose our room on the app on the first floor away from the interstate. However, when we arrived, the app said we had been moved to the second floor. We decided to just roll with it and inspected the room we were given (which we always do first before unloading anything.) It was in very bad shape and looked as though it had barely been cleaned. We asked the employee working the front desk (who appeared unhappy that we had interrupted her screen time on her phone) why we had been moved out of the room that we had picked on the app, and if we could please get a different room than the one we had been assigned on the second floor since it was not satisfactory at all. She stated we had been moved from the room that we chose because Diamond Members wanted that room. Well, that didn’t sit well with us since we are Diamond Members also. When we pointed this out to her, she quickly explained it had been done by another manager earlier in the day and there was nothing she could do about it since those guests had already checked in. That was it. No apology. No offers to make it right. Nada. To boot, she wasn’t very happy about giving us another room, then assigned us to a first floor room closest to the interstate. It was just as bad as the second floor room, if not worse — mold on the ceiling, broken blinds/curtains, damaged furniture. When we wiped off the surfaces with disinfecting wipes, they showed a lot of filth. The AC unit was just on all the time, you could not adjust it to be warmer or colder. So we were miserably cold. That’s definitely better than being miserably hot, but it certainly didn’t make for a very fun stay. Not to mention the unit was gummed up with black mildew/mold. It was disgusting that we were breathing that in. In passing, we observed some interactions on the back side of the hotel by some questionable clientele. Not sure if what they were doing was legal or consensual, but we didn’t have enough data to raise concern to local authorities. We stayed out of the room as much as possible until it was time to call it a night and try to get some sleep. We drove all over Dyersburg looking for respite, to no avail. We could hear all sorts of commotion up and down the hallways all throughout the night with lots of door slamming. The bathroom vent connected to a nearby room so we heard every noise you can think of. Nothing had been cleaned very well and layers of dust encased everything. The bedsheets had a lot of dark lint in them, and the towels were entangled with a variety of hairs. The whole hotel seems to be in disrepair to match the nearly defunct shopping mall that it sits behind. We learned the hotel is slated to be upgraded in September, so it’s a bit more clear now why no one seemed to care about this hotel or the guests. Since the entire experience was so poor, we didn’t even stick around for breakfast the next morning. We bolted out of there as soon as the one decent eatery we found in Dyersburg was open…Chick-Fil-A. That was our prize for enduring such a terrible hotel stay. Even with a remodel on the horizon, I seriously doubt we would ever stay here again.

Good Place to Stay Nice and clean. The staff was friendly. The breakfast was well done with the staff keeping everything full despite the hotel being full. The beds were a comfortable firm that allowed me to sleep on my side. The access to the place is a bit weird with it behind a shopping mall.
