Laundry I liked the hotel overall, but I have to say that I'm only writing this review because of the Laundry, which is impossible to use. I had to go back and forth several times asking for information on how to make the machine work. It's ridiculous that something is so easy and they complicate it so much with systems and apps. This really irritated me.

Not worth it You walk into the hotel and you are hit with the strongest and oldest smelling potpourri smell. Mattresses are con-caved in the middle even before you lay in them. All the doors are hard to open…room, stairwell, etc. stairwells are fully wallpapered dark and dirty. Everything is carpeted….everything. Room sofa and chair had stains all over them…Pool was okay, gym was small, hotel needs a major upgrade.

First and last stay at this property prior to a full refresh We stayed at the Homewood Suites in Egg Harbor booking on short notice due to a family emergency in the area. The location is convenient with easy access by car from the Garden State Parkway and close to Atlantic City. This was our first stay at a Homewood Suites - as a Hilton HHonors member my expectation was an experience similar to other Hilton properties. That was not the case. Upon arrival at 5PM on a Friday, I entered the lobby and found the front desk unstaffed with other guests waiting to check in. After waiting 10 minutes, we called the hotel telephone number and listened to the phone ring with no answer. After 15 minutes, I saw a security guard who suggested that the staff had walked down a corridor, so I went in that direction. After walking the entire length of the corridor, I saw the hotel laundry and heard voices. I opened the door and asked the individuals there if they knew who was staffing the front desk. The individual there who was holding her headset thanked me for finding her there and walked back with me to the front desk. It took about 30 minutes total for us to get checked into our room. We left for dinner through the 1st floor entry door nearest our room and noticed that although there was signage around the door requiring a hotel key to unlock the door, the door was unlocked and no hotel key was needed. This turned out to be the case for all keyed doors for public spaces, including entry doors at both ends of the building, the fitness center and pool. When I told the front desk individual about this security issue, she responded that they were aware of the issue and were awaiting a key to fix it. This issue was not addressed during our 5 day stay. We went to our room and noticed that there was physical damage around the door lock area, so much so that there was a visible gap between the doorjam and the door. We brought this to the attention of the front desk and they told us that the door locks were battery powered and when the batteries died the hotel maintenance staff had to pry open the door to assist the guests with room entry. Since I was able to open our room door using a butter knife without a key in less than 5 seconds (I'm not a locksmith) we asked to switch rooms. We were given a new room and I asked to have a key to inspect the door prior to moving our luggage. When I went to the room, there was a "pet in Room" sign on the door and I heard noises inside the room. I left without trying the key and went back to the front desk. They called the room and spoke with the occupant, who was a legitimate guest but not registered in the hotel booking system as occupying that room. We were given yet another room, which was smaller than what we had originally booked but acceptable. The last straw was an Wifi Internet outage that occurred at or before 6pm on a Tuesday. We reported the outage to the front desk, who originally told us that the outage was with Comcast the service provider and would be back online at midnight. When we discovered on Wednesday morning that the outage was still ongoing and that the night staff had not informed the morning team of the outage (and had also been incorrect in telling us the outage was with Comcast), we checked out 2 days early. On the positive side Michelle Gilbert the front desk supervisor provided us with HHonor points in recognition of the room security issue and was extremely apologetic about all of the above issues. Also Jonathan the maintenance person and the individual responsible for the breakfast service (Kevin?) were extremely pleasant and responsive to our needs. Their individual efforts are the only reason I gave my rating as a 2, it would otherwise be a 1. I also note that I had sent a description of the events to Hilton management and had to go through several cycles of communication before I got an acknowledgement of the issues and a form of compensation for the considerable time and expense of leaving early. I do not recommend this property unless there are no other options available to you. The rooms were large and relatively clean for the antiquated equipment in use, but not up to standards we have come to enjoy at other Hilton properties. This property is badly in need of a building wide refresh, and needs to address the building security issues with hotel and room entry immediately.

DO NOT STAY HERE!!!!! DO NOT STAY HERE!!! YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED! We stayed on Dec 3rd 2023 (12/03/23 for the search algorithms) Originally had planned to stay 4 days. Stayed one night and we are checking out tomorrow and will never return. How this place is considered part of The Hilton family is beyond me. Smelly, run down, no elevator access (it’s been disabled for 3 months according to an employee), hotel is dirty in every sense of the word, unpleasant staff - likely due to their environment disintegrating before them and entire lack of management or support. They instructed us upon arrival to “call the front desk if you need the elevator” Staff leaves external doors open at the bottom of the stairwell 24/7. This is concerning because since the elevators are broken, the primary way to get in and out of the hotel is the stairwell. The exit doors should not be propped open by door wedges. Walmart tension shower rod used in place of sliding glass door that clearly broke. Lighting in room is nonexistent TV in “Deluxe” upgraded room is a 32 inch LG that was first made in 2006 and last manufactured in 2011 (model 32LD345H-UA) has streaks of red and green running horizontally through the display. Leaky faucet in bathroom. Fan in room rattles loudly when turned to any speed setting. No ceiling lighting in the bathroom area. Sconce lighting is all you have which makes it difficult to see. Old coffee left in coffee pot after room “cleaning” Entire Hallway on third floor smells like a mixture of incredibly potent marijuana and pure concentrated lemon pledge. I have never been so disappointed by a “Hilton” property in my life. I am a Hilton diamond member, and long time supporter of the brand and this is truly unacceptable for the money. Go stay anywhere else. Red Roof, Motel 6, Hampton, someone’s couch you find on Craigslist, it really doesn’t matter. There is something distinctly upsetting and deeply wrong with this hotel and how it is being managed. I will be posting this review basically anywhere I can to warn folks from staying here.

Terrifying night just checking in to room Total mess of a stay. The room we were supposed to be in the front desk said already had someone in it so they gave us another room and when we walked in there was a family already in there. Next room was not what we had booked so they gave us another one that someone had been in smoking, eating, and watching tv but were no longer there. Made complaints but no one from hotel property management bothered to address it at all and Hilton Corporate gave us a few points but said they couldn’t do anything else either. If Hilton has no ability to ensure property standards then the property should not be a Hilton property. I’m know the family we walked in on were terrified even though we repeatedly apologized. I’m just glad nothing escalated from us just walking in on them. Front desk clerk seemed annoyed that I had her call each room they assigned us after that to ensure it wasn’t occupied.
