Great course We golfed here once before, and it is a very challenging course. We liked it enough to return. It is very beautiful and has a good lay-out. We did not stay at the resort, so it is a bit of a drive, but worth it!

Terrible Experience Not pleased with the treatment we received at the pro shop or on the course. They charged us for 3 additional players when we only booked for 10. I was told when I booked the tee time that even though we had 10 players they were going to put us down for 12 so that we wouldn't be holding up the rate of play. We ended up having 9 of the 10 players show up because one of them had COVID and couldn't make it. But they decided to charge me $1,200 for 9 players. Secondly we were threatened by the guy from the pro shop that if we were caught playing near our 2 groups of 4, that we would be booted off the course. We were told that the Marshall would be on the lookout for us. This was WHILE WE WERE TRYING TO TEE OFF ON THE FIRST HOLE BTW. We have played here the last 3 years for our annual company Christmas party. Unfortunately we will not be coming back to play here. We will happily go play another course that is welcoming to our group. I would also like to reiterate that the guy from the pro shop was super rude and left a terrible taste. My wife was very offended at the way he spoke to us and made us feel stupid for even being out there. I would like to get refunded for the additional charges to my debit card that were NOT authorized and I feel tricked and swindled by the pro shop.

Great experience This was our first time golfing here. It is a beautiful course and very challenging. The morning was very cold and wet, so that made it difficult at the beginning. We had good service and plan to go back again.

In COVID recovery mode We’ve typically visit the resort as a golf group annually. Our last visit was 2019 due to COVID so it was great to return. A major improvement was made in the units with the addition of hardwood floors. During this recovery period, there are changes in services. Daily housekeeping is not automatic but can be requested at the front desk. Ditto for fresh towels. The Business center and in-room dining are temporarily closed. Permanently closed are the self-laundry facility and Primrose Spa. There are no microwave ovens. Inconvenient yes, but not a show stopper for us. Red Tail Bar & Grill hours of operation varied. When we were there in March, dinner at the main restaurant was Friday to Sunday only. However, food at the Bar was available. Breakfast was no issue with either the restaurant or bar open at 6:30 am. It was great to see Virginia again but sad to hear that other servers had moved on. Onto the golf courses. We knew the weather wasn’t going to be historically warm and dry but wetter and cooler. On the other hand it was nice to lots of green everywhere. Willow Glen is undergoing improvements which made the experience a bit disappointing. Improvements on Oak Glen were welcomed but the punched & sanded greens made for so-so golfing.
