Not what you expect from a Choice property Sleep Inn University El Paso Not what you should get expect a Choice Property 955558246 Sleep Inn 06-14-24 David checked us in. Was nice but had no clue about this Choice Property. Askes for a handicap room. Said they were over booked – 3 cars in parking lot at 2000. Went to the restroom in the lobby – lack of toilet paper and no paper towels. Had a Kleenex box on top of empty towel dispenser. The toilet has dark stain in it. Room 122 1. Door was broken [see picture] to the bathroom. This meant we could NOT close the bathroom door at night because it caught on the frame and would make so much noise when opening. 2. It has 4 lights in room - 3 did not work 3. Tried to call front desk but room has not phone – had to walk to front desk- 122 is toward the end of the long hall. 4. David bought 3 bulbs he found in an open box of used lights in the maintenance closet down the hall, but only two worked. Gave up and told him to forget the 3rd light not working. 5. Pool has sign on it says it is closed, but some folks still went in and David said nothing to them. 6. Used to have a printer, nothing there now, everything gone - empty 7. Has fridge but had no freezer compartment for ice packs 8. AC cover broken [see picture] 9. The Internet is super slow. Opening things took minutes. I did an Ookla speed test 1.95 download 1.92 upload. Finally had to use Verizon Hotspot to get anything done. [Had screen shot attached, but did ot copy to this] 10. The outside temperature was in the triple digits. During the night every time the A/C came on it made deep noise like a tuba and a cycling noise. Cycled about every 6-7 minutes. Drove from Riverside CA to El Paso yesterday and have to go south of Ft Worth today. Got one of the worst sleeps ever. 11. We went to get breakfast at 0610 and there was a young kid walking around on his cell phone. Rudely he told Saturday at 7 and walked off. So we got no breakfast which was included. Usually available at 0600. 12. I went to the parking lot, since we were told that they were over booked and could not move me from the room we had. 18 cars in the parking lot. Told young kid, again on cell phone and he said we are still over booked. 13. I also went to look to see if any toilet paper or paper towels were added to the lobby bathroom, nothing done from my bringing up at check-in. 14. I told him to ask the manager for a credit and he told “You are n’t getting one”! 15. He was most likely the rudest person in 30+ years with Choice. I asked for his name and wanted to know why so I told him I will follow up with this so he told me “I’m not giving you my name.” Young teenager or early twenties skinny kid. ZERO people skills as a front desk person. On 06-15-24 I did survey for sleepinn@express.medallia.com- After sending this in their survey I got a reply I removed the reply because it was kicked back by TA for Plagiarized and Non-original Content.

The manager keep calling me a liar. I’m a diamond member with Chioce Hotels. I work on the road and I’m in a hotel 200 days a year. I stayed there April 10th 2024. I left a brand new shirt there. I tried calling the hotel multiple times I wouldn’t get an answer. Today I spoke to the manager he put me on hold for 13 minutes and 50 seconds. I hung up and called back. No answer again. I keep calling finally he answered the phone I told him that he had put me hold for almost 15 minutes. He kept calling me a liar and keep over talking me. I said that’s how you’re going to talk to a diamond member, then he said diamond members lie too. My room was supposed to have a small refrigerator and a microwave. It didn’t I didn’t say anything about that I was there just that night and was leaving in the morning. I will be traveling back to the area once a week for the next two months. I guess Choice doesn’t want my business anymore. I’m traveling between Tucson and El Paso. I have attached a screenshot of the calls this morning to the Sleep Inn

Worst hotel experience ever, which is pretty bad when you stay in about 10 a month. Where to begin. If I wasn’t 6 hours into a 12 hour trip for school I would have drove back home. It’s that bad. So I understand the concept that you get what you pay for so the bathroom is small and the TV is small and that’s fine given that I paid roughly $72. But there are some minimum expectations that this hotel does not meet. Within the first 20 minutes of me being on the bed I had to fix the “fitted” sheet numerous times. The sheets are old and the elastic is worn out. The brown “bedspread” has a white crusty substance on it. The safety latch is missing off of the door. The clock was five hours off when I arrived. When I went to turn on the lamp, there was no lightbulb in there. The pillows are flat and old. They put me in room 303, which is by itself next to the vending machines next to the maintenance closet. I don’t know what they were doing about 9 o’clock but I was trying to fall asleep and I could hear them messing around in there I could hear people coming in out of elevators. The walls are paper thin. There is damage to the carpet by my door. When I called to make my reservation, I called the sleep in call center directly and I informed them that I would be bringing a service dog with me. They informed me that I had to provide medical paperwork. That’s illegal, and it is a violation of federal law. But I had no intention on arguing with them instead I just brought the doctors notes that I had to provide my disability office at school since I already had them. When I arrived at the hotel, I went to give them to the cashier and she said she didn’t need them . And I told her that was funny “because the call center told me that I had to bring them, but that’s illegal anyway.” Also, when I was on the line with a call-center, my representative asked me to hold onto to listen to a vacation offer. Which I did not want to listen to anyhow, but I did. About 30 seconds into it a woman picks up and I told her “Oh I’m sorry I don’t know what happened. The man told me to stay on to listen to an offer” she proceeded to be very rude to me. That should’ve been my first sign to cancel this reservation. She said “well that’s what this is.” And I tried to explain to her that I wasn’t interested in hearing about the vacation offer but thank you. And she kind of laughed, and said “Without even finding out what it is?” And I said “Yes thank you goodbye.” She proceeded to say, “ so you’re not interested and you don’t even know what it is?” Again. And I said “Yes now goodbye and hung up the phone.” as a social worker, I stay in about 10 hotels a month and this was the worst hotel experience that I have ever had. The hotel is just generally disgusting never again I assumed because the Sleep In located in my hometown is decent that this one would be too, but that is not the case it is not worth your money. Truly, when you get inside your room, you will realize that they’re charging about twice as much as the room is worth. It’s not much above a cheap old, random roadside hotel in the middle of nowhere. I can’t comment on breakfast, because I won’t be here for breakfast. It’s 3:30 and we’re gonna leave by 5:30. I can’t wait to get out of here.

Walk on by. Run if you must. Do Not Stop! A dump. Not sure it's even legal to put a paying guest into a room that's missing it's smoke detector (2 photos). Exterior door photos illustrate the safety of the place. Breakfast offerings include water-soaked powdered eggs and sausage of a color usually seen in a dumpster. Temperature control in the shower inoperable. Scald or freeze are the options. No screen on window, no working TV remote, overwhelming chemical smell on entering the room. Good luck!
