All Bases Covered The Courtyard is an OUTSTANDING hotel to stay at in Elizabeth! It's only minutes from the Newark International Airport. It is also conveniently located within walking distance to a large mall and several restaurants. Upon check in, I was greeted by a wonderful ambassador for the Courtyard hotel chain by the name of Debbie (from New Jersey). Ms. Debbie was extremely well versed in the tier benefits program, as well as local area attractions. Due to Covid precautions, transportation is still available but on a special schedule. Ms. Debbie was very informative of what those schedules were and even ensured that I understood. I really appreciated her professionalism, caring attitude, and job knowledge in reference to my membership status. She made the entire check in process an unexpected pleasant experience. I do hope that the hotel manager deservedly recognizes her for a job well done, as she represents the Courtyard hotel chain very well! I have always said, that if you have a happy staff, it’s because Management is doing a great job of keeping them motivated. Well done by everyone! The hotel is very Covid protocol aware. There are friendly reminder signs everywhere as well as sanitizer stations to help keep everyone safe. All of the staff were properly wearing masks, and the rounds are continuously being cleaned. My room was something that I didn’t expect. There was a counter top, sink, microwave, small refrigerator, and even a small cabinet to store food items. The shower area had plenty of liquid soap, shampoo, and conditioner all in a nice dispenser. The air conditioner kept the room at a constant temperature with any further need to adjust the settings. The furniture in the room looked updated and was very clean. One of my pet peeves is when there are no outlets located near the bed for charging devices. This was not an issue because there were plenty of outlets on both sides of the bed. The bed is also very comfortable as were the pillows. The room was very quiet. I never once heard any other guests of slamming of doors. The housekeeping staff was also very helpful and quiet. This made for a very enjoyable stay! There is a washer and dryer on the 2nd floor near room 200. The sign says that they both run for about 30 minutes. My experience was that the washer runs for almost 1 hour (full load) and the dryer was closer to 40 minutes. The washer does a pretty good job, but the dryer required more drying time. There is a Bistro across from the hotel check in/out desk. They are very accommodating and they make the food to your exact specifications. The staff there is very friendly and helpful. The prices are also very reasonable and you can eat in the lobby area or take the food to your room. It is very convenient if you do not want to leave the hotel, but want something to eat. The New Jersey Garden Mall is located with in walking distance of the hotel. You can find just about anything there (huge food courts, shopping, well known outlets, etc). Overall, you will not be disappointed and I would highly recommend this hotel to all of my friends! If you do stay here, be sure to say hello to Debbie and the rest of the staff. Business Trip Stayed one night on a business trip! Room was large with 2 queen beds, a chair, desk and drawer storage plus a mirrored closet in the entrance! Room also came with a refrigerator and coffee makers are available on request at the front desk during check in (currently not in the rooms due to Covid-19). Beds were comfortable with an assortment of pillows to choose from. Mattresses also very comfortable. Did not explore the area which is close to the airport. There is a mall nearby. Shuttle currently runs every 30 minutes to the airport. Staff was friendly and the room was very clean which I value.

***Avoid this place*** TOXIC ENVIRONMENT ***Avoid this place*** TOXIC ENVIRONMENT I’m forced to stay here regularly for work and they consistently use a toxic, unreasonable amount of air-freshener from Ecolab, that right on the label says that it is a skin and respiratory irritant, that can cause an allergic reaction. And you can’t open the windows so you will be stuck breaking that crap for the duration of your stay. They also use it (via atomizers) through the common areas. This chemicals are known carcinogenic agents. All I’m asking is for the option to clean air free of chemicals. On arrival I was assigned a room and as I entered it has a strong allergic reaction. I returned to the reception and asked for a room free of air freshener and was told by the General Manager that due to guidance of the CDC COVIR19 The has to use it (it was a lie: I have been staying here for years and they always use this, he was just unwilling to accommodate. As i insisted and threatened to go say at another hotel the offer for me to wait while The cleaned a new room for me and not use the product. 30min later I was given another room, still had the air freshener and the chemical smell, just a bit less strong. I’m not sure if the air freshener was still used and my request disregarded or that the relentless chronic use of the product caused the room to remain contaminated. i was also told by management that this product is used on all Marriott properties. I live half of my life on hotels, most of the Marriott and don’t encounter this problem and any other hotels. This place just loves to use way too much of it and is unwilling to change.

Our favorite place by the airport! We have stayed here multiple times when flying out of Newark. It’s easily located closely to the airport, just 5 min away. As soon as you walk in, the front desk staff is so friendly and makes check in extremely quick. The staff is so nice and helpful whenever we have any questions. The rooms are very spacious and clean. We will be back!

My favourite airport hotel I like the hotel very much - located close to Newark airport with well functioning shuttle service. Rooms are news and clean, staff very friendly. I used it both during business trips as well as during private ones. Very good location for shopping - just few hundred meters away you have a huge shopping mall. So it is perfect for a quick stop for shopping, also a good solution when you are only in transfer via Newark airport. I love the breakfast menu and staff at the bar as well!
