They saved us! Thank you We had reservations at a nearby hotel that was pet friendly, we had a cat we were moving here with. Unfortunately they were only dog friendly no cats allowed. We had to scramble, called here, they accepted cats. We stayed 12 days, everything was great, friendly staff.

Convenient For An Amtrak Journey 4 stars just. Pleasant and efficient check-in. Room 1210 from 17 Sept for 2 nights on the top floor was a newish room space. This was on the western, non rail = quieter side of the stay. All clean. Cannot open the window but the adjustable air con kind of attempts to cool the room. On a summer afternoon though it would struggle. No room safe and only 1 suitcase stand. The room needs brighter lighting and some more wall / door hooks. No towel rails either and the designer must be a gymnast to position the toilet roll where they have. Great wi-fi. The room fridge, even on the lowest setting froze all contents. There was also a microwave, which is an odd appliance in such a hotel. Give me 2 suitcase stands as std please, in a double bed room. Breakfast included in our $460 AUD / night rate was ok. San Fran is an expensive city to stay and visit. There is a $200 USD security deposit / stay which hotel management says can take 5-7 business days to refund. Marriott can reimburse their deposit within 1-2 days. Thus a rip-off and too open to hotel scamming, as multiple reviewers here have flagged. They get to hold many dollars for many days and then they blame their bank or my bank even for the no issue customers. Time to change your bank Hilton and put your customers higher in the scheme of things. My bank can transfer such credits in 1-2 business days and I do not have the clout of Hilton. Thus only 4 stars. We picked the hotel mainly because it is a 5 minute walk to the Amtrak train stn check-in office for our Californian Zephyr journey to Denver and then to Chicago.

Consider this for your next work or vacation trip Surprising hotel. From the outside it looks like the average Hilton Garden Inn which can be hit or miss. Inside, the hotel is nicely decorated with sofas and large tables for groups to sit and hang out on. The hotel also has a bar/restaurant that looked popular with guests. However I noticed in the morning that neither the guests nor employees cleaned up the empty beer cans left in the common area tables in the morning which gave the lobby a bit of a college campus look. Although the hotel looked fairly busy with families and business travelers, the hotel honored my room requests for the top floor, quiet room ahead of time. Just keep in mind that the hot water takes a long time to heat up on the top floors. Somehow my room rate qualified for a queen junior suite. My room was larger than I need for a work trip with large windows covering one wall. Since the hotel is the tallest building in the immediate area I had unobstructed views of Oakland. Room looked to be updated with a mini fridge and microwave. The mini fridge is similar to the type found at resort style hotels with the see-thru glass front and a blue light inside which illuminated the room like a nightlight at night. Also, the room AC didn’t seem to work. I set the temperature down to 67 at 10pm and by 530am it was still at 70. Despite these quirks, I enjoyed my short and comfortable stay here and would consider this hotel for vacation in the area in the future.

Good business hotel in the East Bay This hotel has a great location next to the bay bridge. We were easily able to get to see family and friends in Alameda, SF and Berkeley easily. The staff here is helpful and very friendly. The breakfast buffet is solid. While the property is not one of the newer HGI’s I’ve stayed at, the beds are super comfy. I slept really well. I know there has been a lot of chatter about how things are in SF and Oakland safety wise. I am happy to report that we had no problems or issues during our stay here in Emeryville. The lot here is well lit and gated. I would say that this a very good choice for a business traveler in the East Bay. I would LOVE it if they had an actual pool, but the fitness room is pretty good.

Convenient and Friendly Stay I recently stayed at the Hampton Garden Inn and had a pleasant experience overall. The hotel is small and quaint, located about 20 minutes away from SFO without traffic, making it a convenient option for travelers. Pros: * Restaurant/Bar: The highlight of my stay was definitely the hotel’s restaurant/bar. Everything I ordered was delicious and well-prepared. * Friendly Staff: The staff was exceptionally friendly and accommodating, which made the stay more enjoyable. * Location: There’s a walking path nearby that I, unfortunately, didn’t get to explore. Additionally, there are a few shops and restaurants within walking distance, adding to the convenience. Cons: * Breakfast Buffet: The breakfast buffet was just okay; it met basic expectations but didn’t stand out. * Noise: My room had connecting doors, and my neighbors were very loud, speaking loudly late into the night. This made it difficult to sleep, although this is not the hotel's fault. * Housekeeping: Housekeeping doesn’t seem to be daily, and I had to request for my room to be cleaned. Despite these minor issues, I would consider staying at the Hampton Garden Inn again due to the friendly staff and great restaurant/bar. If you’re a light sleeper, I would recommend requesting a room without connecting doors.
