Travelodge by Wyndham Escanaba

Dirty and filthy lobby and outside, failed front desk service Have no idea why this place even gets a one star… We checked in using points, no rooms on the first floor, had to use stairs… Having had knee surgery, stairs and luggage is a struggle…asked for a refund of our points to our Wyndham account… The front desk person said she could move people out of the handicap room….that would mean up to an hour wait to have the room cleaned for us…or, so we thought! Called Wyndham to get our points back….they said the manager would have to release them…the manager refused….called the hotel back…the front desk person said NO ONE even if they were in a car wreck would get their points back!!! What a total customer service failure!!!! Also - just an alert….the downstairs and outside are filthy and seedy… Have no clue about the rooms, never saw them… Stay away from this place - uck!

IN SHOCK !!! I was in shock to here how the manger was talking to his employee .... He was using a very loud tone and kept saying to the female worker I told you this I told you .you must listen to me very loud and rudely to her ...the young lady seen me and walk off .. he yelled and "said do not walk away from me when I am talking to you ...He was not talking to her at all.. I will not stay there again and neither none of my friends or family I hope the young lady quits that was uncalled for Gautam the manger

Unsatisfied stay Reserved a room in 2023 for may 31- June 1 2024 (been staying in the same room for 25+ years) and check in and was told that we couldn’t have room because manager is staying in it. No phone call to let us know. Supposedly they gave us an upgrade in room but it was smaller and not clean. A/c unit trimmed with masking tape and walls were dirty. Not happy

Very nice Enjoyed our stay and plan on coming back. The entire staff was very welcoming, kind and helpful. The room was clean and just the right size. The location is excellent.

Clean and comfortable! Upon entering the hotel to check in, I noticed the clean, pleasant fragrance. Checking in was quick and easy. I stayed in a in a pet friendly uncarpeted room that also smelled very nice, was very clean and in good repair. The bed and pillows were comfortable and the sheets and spread were clean. The desk and arm chairs were also clean and comfortable. The bathroom was spotless and completely updated with high-end fixtures, flooring and towels. The shower was good and hot. The TV, mini-fridge, and microwave all worked well. The abundant continental breakfast included waffles, bread for toast, bagels, mini muffins, pastry, oatmeal, and 3 different cereals, milk, and juice. Coffee and tea were available 24/7. All the appropriate condiments and utensils were provided, and the furniture in the dining area appeared to be new. This property is located on a busy highway and is nothing to look at. The building is in need of landscaping and is surrounded by well-worn pavement in need of resurfacing. I walked my dog across the side street in a grassy area that borders the welcome center and county fairgrounds. While I didn't fear for my safety, I used caution while outside and hesitated to reorganize the contents of my car in this rather exposed location. Despite the shortcomings of the property's exterior appearance and location, the manager and his wife are concerned with the comfort and safety of their guests and are actively engaged in making improvements after acquiring this property about a year ago. Overall, my dog and I spent 3 comfortable nights, and I would not hesitate to stay here again and recommend it if you're looking for someplace clean with a hands-on manager.
