Not a good stay I was not happy because I used travel points to stay at this hotel and it was a big letdown. I will not stay there again.

Super 8, Escanaba, Michigan 1) The front desk person came across as grouchy. Responses to a few simple questions about the breakfast items available were short/curt. She seemed willing to talk with a friend, family member, co-worker? who was present in the lobby. 2) Upon entering the room, it had a rather off-putting odor. Possibly due to the 'spray' my wife observed the housekeeping staff use when they entered the room in the morning as we were leaving. 3) I would have expected housekeeping to first vacuum the room prior to spraying whatever it was. Seems counterproductive to spray and then vacuum. 4) My wife follows a gluten-free diet. When I visited the breakfast room in the morning the only useful item for her was hard boiled eggs (We don't expect a gluten-free menu since few people follow that kind of diet. But a yogurt selection would have been useful.). The hard boiled eggs appeared 'old' with one of them split open and dry looking. 5) At one point I was rotating the TV so our grandson would be able to better view it from the sitting area. As I did so the TV turned off. Maybe I accidentally hit a button on the cable modem, as they wasn't any control buttons along the edge of the bezel I grasped to rotate it. In the process of trying to get it turned back on my wife thought the power cable may have come loose. So I viewed the back of the TV and made sure it was snug. Upon looking behind the TV I also discovered a box with three uneaten doughnuts behind the TV cabinet. I removed it and placed it in the trash container. I then discovered, below the box, a slice of pizza and possibly an empty condiment container. I was not willing to try and remove those. They are probably still there. 6) The bathtub, which we did not use, appeared to have a crack, fairly long (~12") at the junction between the tub and surround opposite from the spout/shower head. Prime area for water entry to wall structures and therefore mold/mildew growth along with 'dry rot' of wood. Generally, the facility seems not well cared for.

Promised a suite We booked and paid for a suite only to arrive and find we did not have the room. It messed up our entire plan and we spent a lot more money. Their solution was to give us two rooms for one or cancel. They just didn't seem to care.

All around terrible The property is not well maintained. Things were not very clean. Some staff seemed to smoke and not do their cleaning.
