Everything one would expect from a nice Hampton Inn Friendly check-in. We came in around noon-time and were not give a hard time, as some hotels do, for checking in a couple of hours before the check-in time, and were given a nicer room due to Diamond status. The room was spacious, clean, and everything was in working order. The internet worked well, and was fairly speedy. Parking was free and easy. Breakfast was the usual for Hampton Inns--not fancy, but hot and tasty.

Nice Hotel with Shuttle Service Stayed here after taking the train from Anchorage to Fairbanks. I would recommend staying here. The Good: First, the have nice well-lit rooms which is nice after staying in hotels with dark, poorly lit rooms. Second, the hotel offers a complimentary shuttle that picked us up from the train station and brought us to the airport when we left. Third, great location to many fast food places if you want a quick bite to eat. The Bad: The staff was generally surly. On the day we arrived, one gentleman answered the phone, fetched in the shuttle, and assisted with check in; he was very welcoming, helpful, and customer-friendly. He was the only one. The ugly: N/A

Risk of Lyme Disease The paint/ drywall on the ceiling in the shower flaked off on our heads. There was an obvious leak from the ceiling in the bedroom area to the floor. The water pressure was non-existent. The cross trainer in the gym was not functional. There were no disinfectant wipes in the gym. Instead the canister was being used as a garbage bin. The most serious concern however was that my daughter got bitten by a tick in the shower. I reported the condition of our hotel room to the young man who checked me. I asked to change rooms. I was told the hotel was completely sold out for both nights of our stay because of the fire in the Denali National Park. Apparently the hotel catered to the military and Princess cruisers. There was zero attention or concern given to the independent traveller, such as myself. I followed up with Hhonors who believed that my daughter’s health (ie a tick bite) was only worth a 50% refund. If you are concerned with Lyme Disease stay away from this property!!

Tourist season means they don’t have to care just over charge and under deliver Very disappointed -have stayed in this location twice a year for the last 7 years. Called three days in advance to ask if room with larger work space was available was told yes and agreed to up grade charge. When stay populated on app room was noted to be the up grade style. Upon landing at airport checked app again and room had disappeared, when arrived to hotel they had reservation but room showing on app was not available, they were sold out only standard room. Discussed room number given in app and gentleman had no idea how this occurred and zero notes were in reservation that indicated previous conversation . Asked if I could be released from reservation as this is not what I bargained for. Was rudely told no and they were not refunding anything. Female manager was off property for airport run, did not engage further. Room had very worn carpet a red orange chair that was also heavily worn and the back of the bathroom door had numerous blisters from moisture and appeared to have some level of mold, bath tub had broken stopper, no cover and water was always standing with again an odor.

Hampton Inn Fairbanks We stayed in this hotel for a week. The location was perfect for our needs. It was close to several of the activities we had planned. Easy check in and check out. Room was cleaned every other day. Pool and exercise room available and free coffee in the lobby.
